I should add this is the first week I have been really mobile running errands etc walking with surgical shoe. Before it was only walking at home and using knee walker everywhere else. Now that incision is closed doc gave permission to wear sneaker 5 minutes 3 times a dsy. It feels good to do short walk to mail box down street.

Yeah for short walks!. Being weightbearing is going to help a lot of things. I am pleased to see the redness is only in the area of rash. That is really positive. I thought you meant your whole foot!
If you're trying antifungal hit it hard. Twice a day and rub it in not on. It's worth a try. You've had skin covered up with bandages and ointments for a while now. Venous dermatitis is certainly an option. Just think what those tissues have been through lately. The tiny capillaries responsible for micro-circulation in the skin get damaged easily and you just had new ones form in that wound. It sounds like you had a big ramp up in activity this week. I am so glad to hear you are getting around. I know you're loving it! Take care,

When I see doc Tuesday he is going discuss an exercise plan, yeah it has been 11 weeks total so it is time. The antifungal he gave me is called luzu.
I am also hoping to go back to work in a week so that will do wonders for me mentally. I just hope I can get all my answers soon because once I go back to work I will be out of sick and vacation time after being gone so long so wont be able to have so many doc appts. Thankful I had the paid time to cover my leave I was fortunate. Plus my boss and director have been very supportive. |

Saw allergist today really liked him but over hour drive. I will see him again Friday for patch testing of over 100 products including surgical supplies topical, metals. Then getting blood work to check immune system. He thinks I did have reaction to some surgical supply in addition to something wrong with my immune system which would explain delayed healing from these 3 surgeries. I will get all results a week from Wednesday. Fingers crossed I get some answers.

Here's another update..
The allergist determined I am allergic to titanium which probably explains why my foot bothered me when the screw was in. He also determined I am allergic to a lot of chemicals including some in adhesives which probably explained the rash I got after 3rd surgery to close incision. I have been wearing sneakers for 2 weeks and can walk over a mile pain free. Now if only I could say about right knee lol. I go to physical therapy 2 timea a week they are doing massage, stretching and exercises for strength. I had a really good 2 weeks and then this week the original nerve pain came back only near incisions though. Very little swelling a little after working all day. This is my first week back desk job. Color Is normal. Some increased sweating in surgery foot compared to other. Still no explanation on nerve pain. I am hoping gets better with pt. Doc has said it could be abnormal case of crps but experts don't think so with 2 additional surgeries it would really flare and be unbearable but it isnt. I just describe it as not normal but obviously my foot has been thru a lot past 2 years. Next doc app is in 1 month but he said call if gets worse hoping it doesnt.. |

Yeah! A mile already and pain free! That is fantastic news!
What a relief to get that validation from the allergist. This may explain a lot. If it's your first week back and you are going all day, that is enough to cause inflammation and aggravation. You did just have another foot surgery... Don't fret. Your foot HAS been through a lot and will need time to settle. It sounds like things are going great. Thanks for update. So nice to have good news. Sending hugs,
