Default Divot sores on legs

I have been reading through posts here and some common issues keep repeating. I hope no one minds that I am posting alternative things that helped me, even if no one specifically asked for this advice. I am a bit muddled this AM so please forgive me if I sound it in this post.

First, in order to deal with the sores I think you have to deal with excess fluid in the area. See the Bowen Technique Swelling thread I posted today. If your lymph system is messed up it simply cannot do its job, which leads to stagnation, skin breakdown.

Second, occlusion therapy was the only therapy which worked for me. I had deep sores on my leg, mostly in the back which did not resolve until I started draining the excess fluid off and then covering the sores with either Surgeon's Secret or Lanolin. And as much as I hate plastic I got over my aversion long enough to wrap plastic wrap around my leg overnight. As the sores got smaller I covered them in scotch tape, yes, scotch tape. The last sore was incredibly deep, very painful and did not go away for months, but I persisted and it finally went away.

The PT chuckled about my scotch tape therapy when she saw it, but she can laugh all she wants, because I don't care, it worked.

I changed the tape everyday and I only covered sores that were smaller than a nickel.

Enna, you are so kind, thank you. I am grateful to the Internet, because without it I would not have found the Bowen Technique or the Occlusion Therapy Method.

Russell,

Try out a small area first, just to test.

Some people also use coconut oil or Vaseline, I don't use the latter, because it is petroleum based, although the Surgeon's Secret I used has mineral oil-another petroleum by product. I think Whole Paycheck sells "unpetroleum" which also works well.
