Spike,
While I can no longer go out very often; most of my friends/family know I have difficulty making any promise to meet them for lunch or go to any kind of affair or gathering.
My friend since high school; thankfully will still keep in touch; knowing I am not good at calling her. We do have an agreement that if a day or morning comes that appears to be pretty decent for me, she has agreed to make last minute plans, if she is available; but she also knows I may call at the last minute to say I just can't make it. She lives quite a distance so when we do meet, (it's been at least 6 or 7 months) she drives more than 1/2 way. But; I would Never say Goodbye to anyone I call friend. Gerry |
Nothing more valuable than a good friend.

I think there are all kinds of friends. Some are work friends, some are business friends, some are kid related friends, football friends, and others are in your heart forever friends like the ones you met in childhood that you still keep incontact with. Since my crps started i lost all those casual friendships since i no longer work, volunteer, or entertain. My forever friends have stuck with me since they know me best and dont mind pizza on paper plates. It must be difficult to have been in a ministry and find yourself unable to help others as fully as you used to. If it is an important part of your life, and part of what makes you you, if you miss it so terribly, i would encourage you to find a way to still serve in this capacity though on a smaller scale. Maybe a few phone calls to the elderly in yourchurch? It would be nice to somehow hold onto something that you enjoyed and to stay connected to others that you care about.

You have put everything into prospective so well. "Goodbye doesn't necessarily have to be forever". Gerry |

. It defines what a true friend is.
Yeah, I know first hand the 'imperfections' of not only myself but the world I live in. What I ment by Proverbs 17:17 is a goal I try to live by regardless.....:grouphug: |
