Hi ALL! ok.. I was so happy when my PD gave me something stronger! ok, now .. This time released morphine 30mg. is making me so tired that I can't even get out of bed.) I only took 2(out of 30 pills) and I have been sleeping away. (I take 1 a day) well, I called my PD and I'm waiting for him to call back(His sec. said he will call me back this afternoon) She wanted to know what problems it was causing me, if it took away my pain?? I sais;"Yes it took the pain away, although I did have "Break through pain" from it, also It makes me sleep(I mean.. a deep sleep) so, I won't be taking this crap again! LOL

![]() Oh definatley... Shhhh, No more ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, the Oxy is potent and it works really well for me at this time.. I am going to discuss having an increase with my doctor at my next appt. I do ok at night while sleeping.. By the time I wake up it's about time for my next dose but it's the day time that gets to me... I had done some reading on the internet and it seems that some people find that it last only 8 ish hours or so and most are prescribed a doseage of 3 doses a day. I'm not sure if anyone here takes there extended release pain meds on a schedule like that. Anyways, Your a doll and you not bad ![]() ![]() Many Hugs ![]() ![]()

It's me peeking through again, you know that nosey PNer, i was a
ER (truma) murse for 25 years. It took 3 yrs. for me to agree to take Morphine sr 30mg. at bedtime and in the morning. This is no what they give you after surgery,it's mild. I know tell that to nsomeone who's sleepy. If your lucky you will adjjust and not be so tired. There is a 15 mg. for break through pain. You just might need to cut 30 in half until your body ajusts. We are all so differant in how we react to meds. Good luck to you ![]() to what youmacallit ![]() |

It takes a few days to maybe a couple weeks for your body to get used to the long acting morphine.
When I first started on it, I slept all the time too. After a couple weeks I couldnt even tell I was taking anything accept for the fact that the pain was reduced by about 50%. You cant really judge any med in the first few days really, gotta give your body time to adjust. If after say 5 days you are experiencing weird feelings then for sure contact your doctor. One thing about morphine though... it slows your breathing, and when sleeping is when it is most dangerous. So your right on about contacting your doctor, it just might be you need to titrate up ![]()
