Default Day after ketamine infusion, sympathetic and peripheral nerve block in foot.

Good mornin y'all

Yesterday was an experience. I first got the ketamine infusion. My daughter was in the room with me. I don't remember anything accept telling her that I'm ok. She said that I screamed and cried for over 10 minutes for my MOMMY AND DADDY. My mom has been deceased for 12 years and my dad lives in Houston. I scared the crap out of her and she said next time she's not coming with me. My poor baby I put her through hell. Then they took me away for nerve blocks.

I don't remember much of yesterday but I journaled when I could. My back and foot were and is very soar. The actual pain was a five.
Today I am still soar. My arms, leg and part of my neck is burning and that is the same as before. The numbness in my foot is still there but the burning is lighter than before. The actual pain is about a 3 sitting still and about a 6 while walking. I'm still very groggy but I'm sure that expected
I am going to go for a short walk later and I will let y'all know how that goes.

Hugs to everyone. I pray that everyone here gets some relief from misery

This is my foot yesterday. I guess the blue is medicine they used. And it is a lil swollen

Sounds like a whirlwind, but you survived! I hope the relief keeps coming. Just be careful on that foot. You are not that far out from surgery and it is easy to overdo on ligaments that aren't soft and supple from regular use.

Sending hugs,

Thank you all. I'm 2 days from procedure and I am burning and actually hurting in my foot. It feels like bone pain but it could be from the 3 shots I got in my foot. I have pt today so hopefully that will help some.

Heart ((((( Julie )))))

Hi Julie,

I apologize for my delayed response.

I, too, hope you will experience significant relief from the infusion.

Thanks for sharing so candidly. I think it helps people not suffering CRPS/RSD to understand and it helps others dealing with this condition to not feel so alone.

I have not been summoning my parents (yet), but I do blurt out some language that's not usually in my repertoire.

I hope you feel increasing relief with each passing moment.

Hello and Welcome Doodles,

You will find much support here and useful info.

Ketamine is an anesthetic that blocks NMDA receptors. It is used to combat chronic pain and is one of the few treatments that shows measurably good results for CRPS pain in studies. It works differently from opiates, blocking receptors in the brain and spinal column for NMDA that get turned on with pain and sometimes don't shut off. There are several protocols for it's use and several of us here receive infusions in different forms. Pain management would be the specialty to give these.

I am getting low dose and documenting my experience with them here.

Here is a great video with loads of helpful information from a compassionate and highly regarded CRPS physician. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3LKhOZ8mAM

If you want, post a little something on the general CRPS forum to say hello so the most members can see you and welcome you to the group.

Sending hugs,
