Default Angiogram scheduled sos

I met with a neurosurgeon for a second opinion regarding my unruptured brain aneurysm. He is reserving it until after I have a cerebral angiogram. This has been scheduled fairly soon, because I am worried about rupture and I have to have faith that the number 2 hospital in the USA for neurosurgery must know their business.

What does concern me is the potential effect CRPS could have on the procedure. I am worried that the puncture site will cause pain which will trigger spread and I am concerned that being immobilized in one position will cause a flare as the colonoscopy/endoscopy did. Any advice will be appreciated.

Heart

If you don't take 500mg of Vit C daily already then start now and keep it going 3-4 weeks afterwards.

Gabapentin should help and is used pre-op to decrease chronic pain potential.

Ask if they are going to or can locally numb the puncture site with lidocaine or something. Ethyl chloride is nice (the freezy spray) if they don't do a local.

LitLove has mentioned preventing spread with lidocaine patches, so maybe you could use them on your leg afterwards.

They can give you something like versed to help you stay calm throughout. Depending on the setting and if you have a sympathetic and willing anesthesiologist they could give you a little ketamine in your IV. Find out all your options.

Let us know before you go so we can send healing vibes your way.

2nding LP and recommend a focus on antioxidants and positive vibes. Vitamin C as absorbic acid is tough for some to digest in oral form in higher doses - and I am of the belief that higher doses are highly beneficial. I go up to 5000-7000 mg when in "prep" or "recovery" mode . Other options are grape seed extract, NAC, selenium, and many more.

Default Oh my goodness!!!

How scary for you!!!!! I'm nor sure what to suggest other than send you all the love and support I can for you at this time!! Just make sure your Crps doc and surgical team are in complete contact with each other. Regardless you MUST have the surgery done! As much as possible try to not stress and keep yourself calm as that will help in the long run. Also, afterwards do NOT keep any pain or after effects to yourself!!!
And please know we here at NT are here for you and keeping you in our thoughts and hearts!!!
