Default infection in my gums again from rsd

hi all. i have now an infection in my gums and what i believe to be an abcess starting in one of my teeth. i called my dentist and he is out for the month of jan because he may have rsd too after a surgery he had. so i called my backup dentist and he said to see a specialist bc of my complicated issues with rsd. so i called an oral surgeon and they can't see me for two weeks. i am in pain an feel that being rejected by one of my dentists is adding insult to injury. i hope i can see someone sooner then two weeks from now. i'm so tired of rsd. it is destroying my immune system and my teeth. i am seriously thinking of getting all my back teeth pulled out and getting partials. i just have to find a dentist or oral surgeon who will do this for me which is no easy task. for some strange reason i can't seem to find one who will help me ease my pain and give me antibiotics to get rid of my infection. i don't think the ER can help me with dental issues. i hope the infection i have doesn't spread to my bloodstream. i can't believe they can reject me like this and sleep at night. it's just appalling to me. i just needed to vent again. i can't sleep bc of the pain and i feel like i am being avoided by some (but not all) of the drs i have called bc of my rsd. it's just not right. has anyone else had this experience and how did you handle it?

I hope you find someone to help you ASAP.

Have you tried the usual remedies for relief? Like gentle gargling with warm water and sea salt or hydrogen peroxide/water. I had a recurring abscessed tooth that hurt so much I would carefully poke around the gum line with a toothpick and then irrigate the area with one of the above mixtures. I was permanently saved from this misery when I saw a new dentist who found and removed tooth fragments left behind from an extraction of a baby molar.

That sounds awful. I am sorry you are going through that.

I would call your back up dentist back and explain the specialist can't see you for two weeks. Obvious signs of infection need to be treated. There is no reason they can't peek in there and start you on an antibiotic if infection is present. They don't have to do anything about your gum or tooth and usually when there is infection they treat it with antibiotics for a week or so before doing any dental work anyway.

If they refuse to do even do a minimal screening that's just not right.

My husband has trouble with his teeth all the time, including a few abscesses. He has gone to the ER before and they did a CT scan to make sure it didn't move into his sinuses. They also gave him scripts for an antibiotic and one for pain meds. I know none of us like to go to the ER but with the holiday weekend coming up it may be the best option. Ironically I just made a dental appointment for my husband for this Saturday (a dentist that is open on Saturdays!) Good luck!

I don't have RSD but have some Great results with oil of oregano for a 10 yr dental issue. I don't want dental trauma and spending tons of money for this trauma.

There is something really powerful about this Oil for infections.

Default How are you doing ?

You might be able to get an antibiotic from your regular MD. Just a thought I'd put out there for you.

Hope you've had some relief in the last few days. Mouth problems are the pits !

Take care and let us know how you're doing. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this

Hi RSD me. I too have RSD of left arm (primary), right foot (secondary site) and maybe tailbone???? Anyway, I am a registered dental hygienist. So, I think the ER can at least give you an antibiotic for the infection, that should quiet things down for you. The infection will, however, return but at least it will buy you some time to find a DDS that will help you. I hope this helps. Toothaches are no fun!!!!

This link can serve two-fold -- grape seed ex info and dental plan info. I've had smilesaver for some years but for the last 5 yrs or so no dental plans and actually have not had a professional dental cleaning for about 3 yrs and ALL since making up my own toothpaste with coconut oil base and other things I add including oil of clove and oil of oregano. I also add MSM powder and add grape seed ex powder from 1-2 capsules.

And knowing the years of grape seed extract is saving my gums overall.

In the close to 10 yrs that I've had the dental issue I take care of, I've had two courses of amoxicillan and now using the oil of oregano to keep infections at bay. So far it's working and no pain for going on 3 months.
