Hi, I am dealing with a similar situation now myself. Getting RSD in the mouth makes things really hard. I had a deal worked out with an Endodontics as they do a lot of blocks to do root canals. The woman who I had the deal with and was well versed w RSD, moved away. I used her x partner who agreed to do the blocks for me.
I had a situation come up needing blocks. Got the endodontist and dentist lined up together. The endo chose to numb me- no blocks…
Result is in full body flare. I will work on getting my body and mouth back, but have no idea what to do next.

I don’t understand how an operating room will be helpful. You need to be numbed then blocked for the right teeth awake or asleep. That was the problem I ran into for my dental work. The endodontist who said he would do the blocks for me, chose to just numb me. Wasn’t enough. The nerves need to be blocked. Try googling what blocks for what # teeth. You are not alone, even though there seems to be no medical articles on this subject.

Are you saying they are getting dental work under Ketamine anesthesia? My concern is the nerves still need to be blocked once one has RSD in the mouth/face. A normal person can get a dental implant with just lidocaine. We become special needs patients and must have the nerve blocked.
So that means after the numbing, anesthesia blocks are injected into the tissue to block the nerves from knowing anything was even done.

Can you tell me who this doctor is ? I have gone to 2 oral surgeons and they are not familiar with RSD, CRPS or any of it. No interest and think I just need a local numbing. Scary!

I have had RSD since 1984. When they do a root canal, not all nerves are taken out… impossible. So in doing a root canal or having an extraction, it is critical to have the numbing and then appropriate blocks. If not done, the RSD will spread to that area. That is what happened to me.
