So this is a strange question, but maybe some one can help me figure this out.
I have been having a very...weird...thing going on. I have no sensation of needing to go to the bathroom, like I could go days (and I have) with out going to the bathroom because I dont have any feeling to, so I just completely forget. But when I do remember to go to the bathroom to try to go, I will per for like 5 minutes straight. I'm not incontient, every once in a while there is just a little bit of stuff in my pants (gross I know, I'm sorry) but it doesn't happen often and when it does its never a lot. I have talked to my home nurses about it and they said if it continues to happen for too long, or I so become incontient, to let the doctor know. This has been going on for maybe 2-3 weeks. Its just really weird. I have CRPS in my stomach, so I was wondering if its spreading or of my it is just affecting my body that way. If anyone had any explanation that would be wonderful. |

I can't say that I have an explanation, but I am having a similar problem. I usually only have the urge to go twice a day so it has not been a real serious concern of mine yet. I just figured it was a side effect of one or of or a combination of my medications. I meant to ask my doctor about it the other day, but it just slipped my mind.
If it continues for too much longer, I would seek medical treatment as soon as possible. Even if it means going to the ER.

I haven't experienced this but I did notice when I was on nortriptyline that my need to go was greatly reduced and thus there was greater volume. Even if it's not a specific med it could be your pain meds are dampening other sensations. On the other part of the problem, do kegel exercises if you can.
My concern for you would be holding too long and getting a UTI. If you don't have a lot of sensation you may not notice so much if something is amiss. IMHO - it might be a good idea to make a plan to go 3 times a day (morning, afternoon & before bed ) whether you feel you need to or not. And I know this is so basic but making sure you're hydrated will help keep things clear. I wouldn't want you to have anything else to deal with.... ![]()

And funny enough right before I read this I just set up an alarm on my phone to go off every 2 hours between 10am and 10pm so I'm trying to make sure I go because I have a history of UTIs and man I hate them a lot. But i am actually talking to my doctor about getting taken off all my pain killers (i get fentanyl, morphine, and other pain killers that I dont know how to spell threw my picc line and I'm not even affected by then at this point, like I dont even get sleepy) and I'm hoping that once I'm done with all of them maybe things will go back to normal. But when I went to my one doctor they did some tests and my blatter is slightly swollen (i forget to mention things so often my memory has gone to ****) But the Dr's said it didn't mean anything. Could it actually be causing something? Also I am hydrated from what I can tell. My urine is very clear when I do go so Thats a plus. I am on a feeding tube and can't drink but I get flushes with water every 2-4 hours so it seems to keep me hydrated. |

IMHO - In my honest opinion.
Please, don't worry about spelling. It's not all that important. I think that most of us have memory problems. All those medications as well as the CRPS can both do that.
