Difficult intubation. ): Barely any voice. Raw, bleeding throat. Bruised tongue. Chewed up lips. Painful jaw and teeth. Not sure how this new trauma is going to effect my CRPS.
![]() What is helping my lips is liquid lanolin, it is pure gold. (Plug: please get some) Nurses were stellar. My CRPS limb was padded and they kept me in warm blankets from admission to discharge. After the procedure I went through several episodes of violent shivering, coupled with an horrendous headache. Each time the shivering started it was in my CRPS limb! |

Oh gosh, I am sorry to hear about the intubation. That can make you so sore. Rinsing with gentle salt water might help the healing.
I'm glad you are home and had a good experience with nursing again. I'm sending thoughts of healing and comfort. ![]()

Thanks for the update! That sucks that they had so much trouble intubating you, hopefully your throat will feel better soon. Get plenty of rest! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next 6 months go by quickly.

Thank you for letting us know how things went. So glad that you are home safe, and that the nurses took precautions to protect your CRPS limb while you were there. Hoping that all turns out well in the coming 6 months. I have heard that lanolin works wonders, as does the salt water rinse as Littlepaw mentioned. I have found that some hard candies work too sometimes, but not always. Just a suggestion, but it sounds like your intubation was a little too rough for the candies to help. Hopefully you will start feeling better soon.

Glad that you had some awesome nurses...I tell you those people can make all the difference in the world. I'm sorry the intubation was rough...that sounds really unpleasant and I hope you recover from it quickly. Thinking of you.
