Hi Everyone,
I knew we were going to move back to Tucson one day but I didn't think it was going to happen so soon and I certainly thought we would have more time. The company that my husband works for has an opening in Tucson. Which is great since my family is there and I will have so much support and help when I need it. But here is the problem... If he accepts this position we only have 2 months to put our house up for sale, pack it up and find another home in the Tucson area to buy and move into ![]() How in the world are we going to be able to get all this done in 2 months ![]() Hubby said not to worry he will take care of it. If I pack one box I'll be in a flair for a couple of days... I feel bad for him since I know he can only do so much and work too. I also just started seeing my new PMD two months ago and I really like him... How do I even begin to transfer to another PMD? How do they continue my pain meds? They do have a Pain Management center at the University of Arizona but I have no idea how long it will take me to transfer and get an appt to see them... Then there are the other Dr's. ![]() Oh, I feel so overwhelmed right now ![]() It's a chance that doesn't come along very often for us and the company pays for the movers etc. I just want to keep these flairs down and I have already been crying ![]() ![]() ![]() Dawn

Hi Dawn! Gosh, it really IS so HARD to have to relocate on such short notice, even though it sounds like a wonderful opportunity!!
Maybe give a "heads up" to your Pain Doc ASAP so that he can start getting ALL your medical records copied and in order? Also, maybe his office can bake arrangements ahead of time with a NEW Pain Doctor is Tuscon, so that when you DO arrive, you won't have to WAIT for your initial consultation and so on. Also, maybe your Pain Doc will be able to give you AMPLE refills of all your meds BEFORE you head out to Tuscon, just to "keep you covered", should there be a delay getting hooked up with a new Doctor? Hey--if your hubby's company is going to PAY for the move, maybe there wuld be a way for the moving company to pack up "non-essentials" ahead of time...under YOUR supervision! That way, you don't have to "lift a finger", and you can be sure that sentimental items and things of that nature are PROPERLY packed CAREFULLY!! It sure is OVERWHELMING having to deal with all this extra stuff! Maybe start making a list of things that need to be done ober the next two months, and by what date..you know, the good old "Honey-do and "Others-do" list ![]() Do you have some friends that could help with the more personal items? maybe you could have a "packing party", with some great music, refreshments and be amongst great company, take pix of the "organized chaos" and make it a little more fun! Just some thoughts... Sure sounds like an exciting opportunity!

Oh Dawn - but you'll be nearer to family.
![]() I think that is such a plus {if you all get along well ![]() What about- Contacting your drs here and see if they can refer you or at least give you names of some good drs there. They know what you need and hopefully they will make the effort to help you find some good help in Tucson. I must say that homes around here can sell quite fast - I don't know how the market is there. Oh, and you get movers- but packing help would still be needed - friends? neighbors? a family member from Tucson??? Or start selling off the big or unneeded items so you don't have to move those. Donate things to charity for a tax write off??

It sounds awesome! I agree - call the drs secretary and ask them to get the dr to sort out the moving. I know that when we have moved because of dads work that even if we had a set time to move somewhere it was only to mean that within 8 weeks dad would be ready to live and work in whatever area he was needed. So basically all he had to do was find a new place in the new country. Most relocation packages also take consideration of family issues which make moving slower (eg if you had kids in school and had to see out the semester). Therefore it could be possible for you to take longer than the 2 months as long as you are renting/ buying somewhere that your hub and you could live with to start with.
But, I am English, so this might not be the same! Packing parties sound great! How do you feel about the move? Love Frogga xxxxxxxxx |

Frogga, I see a new "career opportunity" for you on the Horizon....."MOVING CONCIERGE/PLANNER/COORDINATOR"!! That is a GREAT IDEA!!!!! All Dawn's HUBBY has to do is find the place, rental or otherwise, and report to work! No reason for Dawn to have to TRY and meet the 2 month deadline, and be in Tuscon on the "date certain!!!
YOU, my dear, Frogga, are BRILLIANT!!!! Dawn, as Frogga asked, how are you feeling about the potential move? A little bit better? Fondly,

Oh, Man...
![]() I guess I spoke too soon... Hubby and I discussed it and he thinks we should wait for the opportunity to arise again at a later date. He said that it will come up again it will just be towards the end of next year. He was concerned that my pain levels still aren't yet in control and he is hoping that my PMD can have some time with me to work on better pain management and possibly a spinal cord stimulator. We are putting our AZ property which is a beautiful lot in the foothills up for sale this weekend. We had planned on building our dream home there once we retired but when this whole disability issue happened with me... Well, the old home equity loans were taken out and that kind of put us in the you know what... The Big Dumper... ![]() So what we are going to do is sell the AZ property ![]() I really just wanted to get back to my Mom, she is getting older and I sure would like to spend the quality time with her while she is still able to get out and have fun doing the things that mothers and daughters love to do together. I am so thankful for my husband who is so caring and considerate of my condition ![]() Thank you so much for all your suggestions... I was so stressed last night and let me tell you it didn't help my pain levels.. Hugs to all.. ![]() Like I said... Your all da Bomb.. ![]() ![]()
