Default Shooting pain on top of foot

Good evening- thought I'd drop by to ask if anyone has experienced intense shooting pains on the top of your foot w/CRPS. They started last Thursday and have increased Today to the point I can't walk or get rest they are located on the top near toe 2 and 3.

I'm not sure if it's a stress fracture or pinched nerve but it's bringing tears to my eyes. I can withstand a lot of pain but this... This is pushing my limits. I hate to boot my foot and be on a scooter for the summer! I was in a boot this time last year. 😔

I would suggest going to the doctor. I get all sorts of weird pains cause by my RSD...just the last couple of days I got these odd pains in my legs (both even though RSD is in my left) but they passed fairly quickly so I'm ignoring it as more bizarre behavior from my body. If it's particularly severe then you should get it checked out to see if something else is causing it. The good news is that if it is something else then there are most likely treatments and it will heal. Sorry that you are suffering right now and I hope you get relief soon.

I think you should see a doctor ASAP... RSD affects calcium in the bones, and a stress fracture is possible because of that. A broken foot bone can be very painful.

Also there are lots of nerves on the top of the foot... these can get compressed if you wear shoes what are tight in that area or laced to tightly.

There is a nice new lotion out... called Aspercreme with Lidocaine.
You can rub some on the area and if this is just a compressed nerve, it will numb it for most of a day. It is as strong but OTC and not expensive, as the compounded RX lidocaine creams.

But if you have a broken foot bone, you'll need a podiatrist or orthopedic doctor to immobilize the foot so it can heal.

Get your Vitamin D checked, so that you can absorb calcium from food properly, as calcium is necessary for healing broken bone. Also consider Vitamin C 500mg-1000mg a day to see if that helps. Vit C has shown in some European studies that it prevents RSD in patients with injury or surgery to the feet and ankles.

Inspiretoday, do you have CRPS in this foot where you are having symptoms? Or is it elsewhere in your body and that is why you are wondering.....

I have CRPS in my foot and it has a mind of it's own, as I describe it. The foot is a very sensitive area, rich with nerves and 26 bones.

Best of luck to you with figuring this out; will you please keep us updated?
