Default Capsaicin Cream

Anyone tried Capsaicin Cream? My new PCP told me to use it. She was really pushing it. It sounds like a bad idea to me. What do you think?

I did try Capsaicin extra strength at the recommendation of my podiatrist as I have CRPS on my foot. But it didn't help at all. But it didn't aggravate it either.

I would say to be careful if you do try it as it is possible that it could aggravate the affected area. Try it on a very small area FIRST to see if you have an adverse reaction to it.

I tried it very early on and it was horrible for me. I hated it as it made my foot hurt and burn worse than ever.

Thank you Becca. That is my fear that it would burn and hurt. I am so glad you shared this with me.

hi zinnia. i have never tried capsaicin cream but have been using voltaren gel as needed to help with the stinging burning aching stabbing pain i feel because of my rsd. my pm dr prescribes it along with gabapentin and a strong pain med. i take the meds on a daily basis but have been starting to use the voltaren gel almost every day now too since my rsd has spread some more. maybe your pm dr can prescribe some to you too. i hope you feel better soon. soft hugs my friend.

If you try it, do it on just a very small area. I was gung ho that I was going to get pain relief and we applied it all over my foot. Big mistake when I had the bad reaction to it!
