Default Female reproductive system

Hi,
Does anybody know of any research on the connection between CRPS and female reproductive system? Did any of you in your 20's or 30's experience the change in the menstrual cycle resulting in very little flow? Could Lyrica possibly contribute to this?
Thank you

My birth control pill is responsible for me for less blood during cycles. Not any of the other meds I am taking. I know, because I took BC before the Neurontin. And after that, I saw fairly little difference in cycles. Yes, the BC is a bit off due to the Neurontin in the sense that I get my period a bit irregularly - even on BC, but oh well. At least I don't bleed as much or get PMS as bad.

But no, my pain medication didn't touch my cycle.

Hi Blueberry!

I had already gone through the change when CRPS developed. I did a quick google of chronic regional pain syndrome effects on menstrual cycle and came up with these two links that might help (there are more):

Complex regional pain syndrome type 1 may be associated with menstrual cycle disorders: a case-control study. - PubMed - NCBI

http://rsds.org/wp-content/uploads/2...ns-of-CRPS.pdf

The first one discusses the connection between menstrual disorders before the development of CRPS and the second discusses many of the systemic complications of CRPS.

Hope your search gives you some answers.

Shay

Thank you, Shay.

I read Dr. Schwartzman's article as well. This is my daughter (31) who has CRPS. It has been 7 months since the beginning of the desease and diagnoses. The extreme fatigue is getting worse. There are effects on menstrual cycle and gastrointestinal function. She is on Lyrica and many supplements. She also had bisphosphonate infusions at 4 months and recently started LDN.

Is it logical to think that the systemic involvement needs to be addressed with treatments regulating glial activity? That would be LDN and Ketamine? She has some contradictions for Ketamine so it is not an option, at least for now.

Thanks to all who responded.

This makes sense. I've noticed changes in my cycle in the last couple of years. Most recently, I've had lower back pain that radiates down my legs and my cramps are more severe. I've had some bowel problems for a while, but they've intensified. Also, I can't use tampons anymore because they hurt. I was thinking something if wrong more globally, which is why I'm having so many issues (they're not that big a deal in and of themselves, but still).
