Default RSD and Bones

Im a newbie
My name is Alison, I am a 12 year old female and I have just been diagnosed with RSD type 1 following a recent ankle injury. The injury happened on the 16th March 2007 when I sprained my ankle falling down some steps. My mom took me to the hospital where they reffered me to a Physiotherapist. I had 6 weeks of normal Physiotherapy and 3 weeks of Hydrotherapy. After 9 weeks my Physiotherapists said that there was nothing up and I was putting it on to get out of school!!
Gradually my ankle started turning outwards (eversion) and the pain got worse and worse so my mom took me to another hospital, where they admitted me immediatley, they ran several blood test which all came back saying that I was at risk of developing Arthritis. They told me and my mom that they suspected it was RSD but to be sure they had to tranfer me to a specialist in another hospital that dealt with RSD. The next day we were transferred and we saw the RSD specialist who confirmed that it was RSD. He said I needed a nerve block. A few days later I went for the nerve block which had NO effect. He then put me on Gabapentin which has made me extremely wobbly.
Can anyone please answer me this question?
Because I am still growing and because my leg is held in such an un-natural position will this cause trouble for me in later life? for example will one bone grow bigger than the other??
Any advice is kindly appriciated
Thanks and sorry it is so long
Alison
