One other thing you can try...put hand warmers in your boots. They make both disposable ones and reusable kinds. It helps a lot when mine hits that icy cold burning that nothing else helps.

Something as simple as "fake" Dr. Martens (with a zip to the side), I have had that type of boot for a while.
