Hey
I wanted to know if any of you have had surgery for a damaged and pinched nerve while having CRPS in the same extremity and have good results. Some docs say it could help a lot in that scenario, others say it will only make things worse. Comments and advice are welcome. |

Hi. I had a pinched nerve that was able to be released with chiropractic care. But now I have a trapped nerve in my foot…with total body CRPS/RSD…
So where it is makes a difference. Most surgeries will make the RSD worse as it will affect the nerves that are already being given wrong messages from your brain from the sympathetic system, and yes, it can cause dystrophy. So surgery is generally not a good idea, unless it is life saving…. I hope this helps. |

I would consider it very carefully before going through with it. If you're talking about carpal tunnel forget it. This is said to rarely help. I'm sure you're facing a very difficult decision and I'd advise you go with medical advice from a specialist in this field. I've been fighting RSD in my left hand and carpal tunnel in my right for many years. I've got some small control over the RSD and now might be winning the battle against carpal tunnel. It's too far advanced that the operation is sure to fix it but I just need a hand or two so am very hopeful. Best of luck. |
