Default doc thinks my rsd has spread to other foot

Hi all,
Saw my PM yesterday. He's sure that the rsd has spread to my right foot due to the fall I took almost 3 months ago. He wants to do a block on that side, and wants to start me on the road to a stim for my left foot. He said either that or I will be on pain meds for the rest of my life. I don't have a problem with that, but he didn't act like it was a good thing. We will see.

Hi Mary Again,

If I was you, I would get a second opinion. If your second opinion is different than the first get a third. Love, Roz xxx

Roz,
You are right about a 2nd or 3rd. I really don't have problems with staying on pain meds for the rest of my lift. Actually, the meds work only if I stay home and stay off my feet. If I'm up and moving around then nothing keeps it from hurting. I will go for the block on the right foot, but just don't know what to do about the left.

Mary, I sure hope the dr. is wrong... I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I have rsd in both feet and legs... it sucks, but I may have a few pointers to help you deal with it, if you'd like to pm me. Or you could ask here... it might help others too. However you want.

Best of luck and many gentle
Rogue

I agree with the others, get more opinions and decide what is best for you. I was told by one doctor that he would not even give his sister a ganglion block unless that was her only option and she was elderly. Then the other information he told me - scared me, so I opted out of that. I did have a pain block into my cervical spine where I have 2 herniated discs, just made me worse. This is such a case by case condition, so check with doctors and follow your instincts.

As always, the people here are the arms that never stop holding! I hope you remember we all support you and wish you the best.

Default hello mary

hell mary how r- u - doing this eveing ? well almost morning it's 11:52 pm. i just e-mailed you so please let me know if there anything i can do to help. i'm not to sure on the block's, have you ever had one or more before ? i have turned them all down also the last one to implant a morfine pump in my back, but then again i sometime's wonder if i should go that route, it would be nice just to push a button instead of talking all these med's everyday. well see, has anyone eles had the pump done in here ? i have had it for 14 yr's so there not much they can do to help me. well i hope everyone is doing better today, hugs to all that need one. take care ps. mary can you tell me what your x-ray on your left foot looked like ? was your bone's white or black on the x-ray ?
