i have 2, each implanted by a different doctor. i have an abs stage 2 (cervicle), and an abs stage 4 (lumbar).
i have experienced 2 very different results and am just wondering if anyone has an older one and what their results were, or if someone has a cervicle one and had good results. i am trying to decide if it makes sense to have my old one removed and replaced with a newer version.

Sorry, I can't help with your questions... but I did want to bump this post back up so someone who does have a scs can see it, lol.

You know how it goes... get a bad flare, disappear for a few days. (I've just got back from a few days off myself.)

I don't know if you saw my post on the introductions page, but I too have crps type II. I'm sad you're here at all, but as long as you are, it's nice to have another "II'er" around. There aren't very many of us.

yeah there dont seem to be too many type 2 folks around, any crps/rsd diagnosis is awful but i always wonder if i beat my body up to much following my original rsd dx. i was like 14 and had devoted my life since age 8 to being on the us ski team and right after i got the dx i got my shot. probably not the wisest choice of action since i blew out my knee again and everything went from bad to worse from there on.
anyway nice to meet you...i was glad to hear that you are doing better following a little down time

Hi Wakegirl,

I have a MedTronics cerv. implant for quite some time now. I have had success with it. I have been in remission for close to 3 years now because of it. Everyone once in a while, it will rear it's ugly pain, and I just turn the SCS on for a few hours.

Anyway, I rarely use mine and had the battery checked a few month ago and I have still only used only 20% of the batteries life. But I rarely use it anymore.

I have a friend who has had her medtronics now for 6 years. She still has problems but they would be worse without the device. You should evaluate whether or not the device is giving you more time up than you have down.

Hi Wakegirl,
I have type 2 from a hip replacement. My siatic nerve was damaged in 3 places during the surgery. I had my scs done in 2003. It worked for a while, but not enough. I still needed pain meds. Its turned off now due to a fall. One of the leads slipped out and is sitting on a nerve. I think every case is different. Some people it helps and some not. Take care.
