emg anyone?

i have been looking over my medical records and noticed i have had a lot of emgs in an effort to isolate the areas of my extremities were most effected. the most interesting result seems to be that the longer i am in a major flare the more obvious my results were. just curious if anyone else has had emgs to map their symptoms, and if so have they noticed any significant changes?

Emg's... Emg's?!! I almost jumped off the table!! I will never ever get this done again!! I know that it is useful for nerve damage(I believe Allen said this on another thread) But run don't walk.. LOL

I was a mess after the girl did it, got it all wrong(I was veryyy uncomfortable!!) Then the Doc. go's and does it all over!! OMG My RSD flaired so bad after having this done! I believe it caused me more pain!! so this is my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL

EMGs EMGs EMGs

.... i have quite a funny story about it... It hurt like hell i must say he did the fingers and then the elbow and when he got to the neck i jumped off the table and punched the physcian in the face... It was just my natural reaction to the pain he was putting me through i felt terible.... I have triple crush so i cant tell you about noticable changes because i will never have another one done... And if you do becareful where you hands are dont want to punch any more docs... LOL....

Hope all are having pain free days and gental hugs.. .

i had one partial one to confirm my neuropathy and that was it for me .... all set with those.
wildberry, punching sounds appropriate! i just yelled, "that's it!' and i got up. ha!

lol yeah i think if there is one test i would tell a newbie to avoid the emg is probably it. i had the screws in my tib plateau removed in the office with just a little local and honestly i think the emg is worse. i have a funny reaction to a doctor procedure. i dislocated my knee and broke my leg in 2 places and my ortho doc felt the need to poke and prodd way to many times i finally told him if he did it again i was going to kick him. needless to say he ignored, i kicked in the head, he slammed against the wall unconscious. when he came to he looked at me and said "ok my bad". i was 13 and he knew i did kickboxing for cross-training.

anyway i wouldnt recomend an emg i just wondered if anyone has had more than one in the same area as the disease progressed and had varrying results.
i did and i thought it was kind of funny because most of the time i have had one it was because my hand hurt or my foot hurt...and the results have become more significant and when they were done prior to a flare the results were far less sigvificant. i guess i am trying to find other people who have suffered through the procedure more than once to see if their number changes are the same as mine sorry i had to remind so many of the horrible procedure

All my EMG's have been normal except the first one that showed a little carpal tunnel and a problem with the median nerve at the elbow. I was told that people often get carpal tunnel early in RSD. I think the elbow problem might have been because I was grinding this nerve into the door handle of my car whenever I drove. This wasn't conscious. Perhaps it was an instinctive reaction to the pain. This elbow had given me trouble a few years earlier so it could have been related to that. The doc called it tendonitis.

Wow, you had the screws removed from your tibia in the doctors office. Did the doctor gown and glove???
