Confused energy absorption from batteries, etc.

Hi Everyone,
Do any of you with RSD ever experience the feeling of absorbing energy from batteries, lightning, etc. I appear to drain the energy out of batteries, such as those in remotes, flashlights, toys, cell phones, etc. I also can awaken in the middle of the night in extreme pain from shocks due to lightning....the storms may be miles away and never come near me, but I feel the energy and it causes great pain.
If you know of anyone with this same kind of problem, I would appreciate your stories and find out how you deal with it.
Is anyone aware of any doctor or scientist/engineer that may be studying such a phenomenom?
If so, please let me know. I am quite desperite and suffer from lots of related pain.
Thanks for your help!

Loud noises and bright lights sometimes trigger my pain. Even strong odors seem to sometimes be associated with symptoms but usually not pain. Noises are worst but bright light is more likely to cause trouble.

Question

I cannot wear quartz watches. I "kill" them, and always have. Is that the type of thing you are talking about?

(Evidentially, I "kill" them pretty quickly, because I have troubles wearing watches, as I am allergic to metal. So, I can't wear watches often or long. Doesn't matter....if I try to wear a watch at all regularly, I kill it dead. Drain the life right out of it. My grandma did the same thing.)

A couple of years ago I noticed that I could feel that lightening was about to strike...about 3 to 5 minutes before it happened. I was with a friend at the time and told her it was going to lightening...she thought I was weird. All I know is that it's a weird sensation, my hairs stand on end, I get goose bumps, and my pain goes WAY up!!! This "phenomenom" is still happening with every storm that comes around my area.

I also can not wear watches or any metal... watches die FAST and metals feel like static shocks when I try to wear them.

I don't know of anyone studying this and I had never heard of anyone else experiencing this... but I did tell my doctor and all he could say is that he doesn't doubt it as he has seen some of the weird things that I can sense and feel that no one else around me even notices.

Take care and know that you are not alone with this "phenomenom".

Default wild..

I wear out watch batterys fast too.. they just seem to stop working for me.. I have also noticed street lights seem to be affected by my passing by always thought it was weird.. lights would turn on or off when I passed under them..

hmm strange but very interesting topic.. my scooter can't seem to hold a charge for long either.. hmmm...

I get an electrical charge feeling in a lightning storm that raises all my pain levels and leaves me feeling like I have been charged up.. hmm.. weird ay.

Thanks,
Sandra

Thumbs up Thanks for replies re: energy absorption, lightning, etc

For those of you who sent replies to me, THANK YOU!

SANDEL and ABASAKI, have either of you pursued this further with your doctors, any scientists, or engineers? Since it has made pain levels so increased for me, I would LOVE to find someone who would do a study. I would also like to know if your symptoms are documented in any of your doctors' records? I may need some back up and would like to have proof that some others with RSD suffer from the same problems. I would, of course, be discreet!

Thanks everyone that can offer insight into this!

Default Infrasound (also infrasond)

Hi Mrshippie,
I am very in tune with infrasound - the sorts of VERY low frequency energy that the natural world uses to communicate - elephants can communicate for massive distances - lightening & distant thunder - & doof doof music - I utterly despised it before but now I want to take to the sound system with an axe - If I could move. Male crocs (Salties) also use it by resonating their whole diaghram & upper body to attract mates - the lower the resonance the more attractive the mate & the more of them woohoo!! They come a runnin for miles. Some work is being done on these aspects.

Our neighbours installed a 10 hp air conditioner compressor about a meter or maybe 4 ft from my bed head & since then OM gosh - the pain in RSD affected areas. I just cannot rest in my bed when I need to & they do love their air con.

The doctors just don't get this one at all.

I used to like dabbling in electronics - but find it difficult to get a circuit to run properly now I have RSD unless I do what computer repairers do & wear an earth strap - mind you - concentrating on the circuit is an awful lot harder with RSD so I've just about given up.

It sounds a bit "out there" but I think some off us are a lot more in-tune than others esp with RSD.

When I've worked with horses I was priveleged to be taught by an old hand (and this was common practice) the good horsemen - really good ones subconcsiously make a low frequency rumble that is only really perceptible by the horse - most people can't pick it up & it can be used as a very effective adjunct to horse control. It's off the track but it's like when you meet a new horse you are going to ride - walk up to it calmly & gently let it smell your breath - right up close....watch their ears & facial expressions-----I digress but this brought me back to the world I loved & lived avidly for a lot of years. Lots more on horses but I'm off the thread - sorry.

Of course, I have to stay away from horses & cattle (I never blew up a cows nose tho..... now - can't move if they decide to so I stay away from my love.

THANKYOU SO MUCH it was so nice to remember HAPPY TIMES. I do hope I didn't bore you all or steal your thread.
Regards
Auberon

I just wanted to let you know that I haveyet to have any of those sensations. My biggest fear is that if it does start to storm (lightning) with my spinal cord implant I am afraid to be outside for fear of the electricity directing the lightining towards me. Could that happen? It sounds crazy, but this is still sort of new to me. When it gets cold is when I notice having a lot of pain. Sometimes it hurts so bad I just sit and cry. Is this normal?
