Allen,
I can walk 50 ft and see Mt Hood. Our home faces Mt Hood, but the trees grew and blocked our view. 110 ft Firs everywhere. When the sun is out, it is beautiful. If I walk to the other end of our road, I can see all of Portland and Mt St Helens. We live in God's country. Ocean, Mountains, Desert, Valley all within 100 miles of us. Don't tell anyone what I have told you. Big secret. Too many people are finding out about Oregon. We had Dana over and now she knows why we will never leave Oregon. Hope all is well for you.

Condor, have you ever climbed to the top of Saddle mountain, it's half way to the coast on hwy 26?

Back in the late 70s on a clear spring day, back when the air was still very clear, we went to top and could not believe the views from all around.
We could see west to the ocean & east, northeast & southeast to all of the mountain peaks, it was just amazing.

Oh and another gorgeous clear day here so the mountain cams should have some nice shots.

Hi Jo,
That is a beautiful sight. We have traveled Oregon alot, and I don't think I could leave this State. It is just so Beautiful. We did not have kids for the first 10 years, so we did alot of traveling. I love the fall colors. Last small climb for us was Multnomah Falls on a clear day. The view from Crown Point confirms we are in God's Country. Been going to the Columbia Gorge for picnics this year. Might go to the coast for a day or two. Take care.

Teeth Envious

I love the mountains of Oregon, actually any mountains LOL. I grew up in Yosemite Park, and loved to hike everywhere I could.

There is nothing like the serenity of sitting atop a mountain with a gorgeous view. The ranch I had before RSD came along and changed my life, had a mountain behind the house with a view of the valley floor with 3 cities in view. Kinda like the view of Medford from the hills east of Medford.

I used to hike up there and sit everyday. I sooo miss that, it really eased the spirit, put the day into perspective. I think that is why I like the St Helens webcam soo much. It is beautiful, and also has an element natures power to it.

I would love to see the view from your place Stephen, it sounds awesome looking!

Condor....

Yes, you do live in God's Country....but then again, take me back to my little grass shack anyday.

I do remember going to Mt. Hood. I did try to ski again after 10 or so years.
