Default Stress levels out of control.

I wanted to ask about stress.

I have had my stress under control for months and now my stress level is through the roof.

I am dealing with issues here at home and it seems I get one thing done and then something else happens that I have to deal with something.

For some reason I can't get my stress back down. Again it took me and my Dr. about 7 years to get my stress level down to where I wasn't dealing with chest pain, depression and other issues quiet as bad.

Is stress an issue with the RSD. What part of it comes from the RSD?

Thanks so much for the help.

Ada

Hello Ada,

I think that stress just goes along side any illness, particularly a chronic painful one.
I truly admire anyone who can remain stressfree under such obvious changes in lifestyle.
I believe this is another of those "chicken and egg" situations but in my case I certainly had never experienced any major stress when I got RSD but I sure have it now.
There are many methods for trying to control and improve stress levels, I think we need to just examine each one and see what works for us.
My method is keeping involved in my family activity--not the physical side but the emotional and supportive way.
Wishing you better times
Tayla

Ada,

I too suffer from stress. I get easily upset and depressed, I have tight chest pains and I have panic attacks. I believe that stress plays a massive role in RSD, due to us not being able to do what we want to do and used to do.
Have you ever thought about seeing a Psychologist? I see one every 2 to 3 months, it doesn't really help me but it might help you. (I see 2 Psychologists, ones an educational psychologist and the others a pain managment psychologist)

Please reply and let us know how you are getting on - your doctor might prescribe you some tablets to stop you being so stressed (these might include anti-depressants, I have being on them)

Pain free hugs
Alison

Take care, I will be thinking of you

Default Hi and thanks,

I have been so stressed lately that I called my Dr. last night and ask to go ahead and turn the VNS up to see if that helps some.

I have done relaxation, meditation, and other methods to deal with the stress. What I find though after the stress gets so high no matter what you try to do to get it calmed down it just keeps going. Thoughts keep going in my head and if I were a keg of dinamite I would have already exploded.

I finally got my furnace in, got my new door in, then I find out my state medical insurance has been stopped for some reason. I had to go back down to see the worker today to find out why. I have 2 Social Workers and the guy has came to see me 4 times. He actually has a crush on me but since he is my SW I don't want to go down that route. Besides he's not my type. LOL
I got spoiled having a good looking tall, thin, dark haired guy by my side so I doubt that I find another one like him. The other one is the one that kicked it out of the system somehow and she wasn't in today so they couldn't find out why. I have not heard good things about her but I had never had problems with her before. So now I am dealing with this. I have stitches in my hand to get out and I know my hand Dr. won't see me Tuesday if I don't have my insurance. My truck is on it's last leg so I have to start looking for a new vehicle. Bill delt with everything I had to get done, now I have to deal with it and I find it very hard to do. Even the simple things get to me. Oh and my oldest Grandson has decided to turn into a teenager now. He's great with me but he is giving his Mom and Dad a headache and it worries me all of the time.

Alli, I am in councelling. Have been for years to get me back to some semblence of living. I think with RSD councelling is a must for a lot of people with it. I go weekly and have for a long time. I now have the VNS to try and help get me even better but so far it hasn't done a lot for me. I have to give it time though. We are going to turn it up this evening so I am hoping that helps me. I can't take depression meds. I gave up on them long ago. That's why we opted for the Vegal Nerve Stimulator.

Tayla, I have always delt with depression but it wasn't until I got the RSD that I just went out of control with stress, P.A, suidicidal tendencies, Anxiety attacks and major major depression. It was like I had no control of anything. It was the wierdest time of my life. I have came a long way though.

Sandel, thanks for the info. I am going to read up on it when I get home from the Dr. I do read the info you are putting up for us. If a person can find one thing in it that hits home or helps then it's done it's job.

Thanks for the help.
