Default Broken leads

Hey guys,

I was up watching tv late last nite and saw a comercial from a lawyers office saying that Medtronics leads have been known to break and cause probs and to call their office for more information. Has anyone heard this ? I am pretty sure that it was for pace makers but it was late and i know for sure it said medtronics and broken leads. I have 2 medtronic stims and just worried now...)

Thanks!!

Amber

Please don't worry Amber.

This was concerning just a couple of very specific pacemaker leads that were faulty..
They are very different to what are used for SCS and Intrathecal pumps.
I am sure by now all of those patients who have the faulty pacers have been informed and they have been changed.
Unfortunately there is always the possibilty for some bad equipment to pass through the cracks, I guess that has to be calculated into us making informed decisions about having these appliances installed.
I hope you are doing OK.
love always
Tayla
