Can anyone help with this question? I had a laminectomy 6 months ago and have continued with nerve pain down the right leg (where injury was) and now in the left leg (no injury here). I've had 2 steroid injections with no success. They did a sympathetic nerve block on Wed and I feel somewhat better. Does this mean it is RSD? I don't have the temp change or color change in my extremities but I am somewhat sensitive. Thanks so much.

No a positive reaction is not nessarily RSD.. it could be that there is injury to the sympatheticnerves from your laminectomy and I have heard that a sympathetic nerve block can sometimes help sciatica as well.

What symptoms do you have?

You can also get senstiivity issues after any nerve injury to your C fibers (I think lol) not just RSD. That said I wanna still say I dont know..

Have you had a three phase bone scan done? that can be helpful with your diagosis.

Any injury on an RSD limb realy hurts.. did you feel unusual pain with a needle in the effected leg, or was that where you got the steroid shots? And have you had any swelling in your legs?

Everyone is different.. and just becuase a single block made you feel better doesnt mean you have rsd. I didnt have symptoms like color change and temp change until 6 months after i was dx. The block actually made me worse.... Take a deep breath and dont assume anything.. I also have TOS...
Its a really long journey just remember you dont know for sure, you need to get a doctor you think you can handle it and has some idea of what RSD is.. Many people go through many doctors....Please please please... arm yourself with information....

You should try looking up RSD hope.. it was really helpful for me ....
