Dear All,

I am a Neurologist working at the University of California, San Diego. I work at the Center
for Brain and Cognition with Professor Ramachandran:
http://psy.ucsd.edu/chip/ramabio.html and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vilayanur_S._Ramachandran.

We are investigating a new treatment for Central Pain. At the moment we want to test its
use specifically on patients who suffer from either CENTRAL POST STROKE PAIN or REFLEX
SYMPATHETIC DYSTROHY.

The treatment is called caloric vestibular stimulation and initial patient results have been
promising. Basically it involves stimulating the balance centers of the brain by irrigating
the outer canal of the ear with water of different temperatures. Its only side effect is a
sensation similar to that of sea sickness for a couple of minutes. The procedure has been
used for a long time for other clinical purposes and has no known long-term side effects.

If you are interested in taking part in this study then please email me- pmcgeoch at
psy.ucsd.edu

There is no charge for participating and you will receive a gratuity payment for your time.

Many thanks,

Dr Paul McGeoch

Default test

I inquired about this and they are interested in me doing the study, the only difficulty with it being the financial considerations of getting there, finding a place to stay etc. He seems like an interesting fellow at any rate! I will keep you posted if I do take part...who knows, maybe I will win the lottery and the financial problem won't be an issue.

Hope this finds you having a good day
Gentle huggs
Kimberly
