Just heard of the quake in Hawaii and hoping you and your loved ones are doing okay. I'm sure everyone there is pretty scared. Sending prayers out to you and your family. Hugs, Jewells

Though I don't really know Dana, she's been in my thoughts & prayers since I heard of the quake earlier today. I pray Dana & her family rode the quake waves and are ok.

Claudia,
Do you know what time she was supposed to go in for her test today? Since we don't know for sure if it was canceled or not (last I heard, about ½ of Oahu had power?), I guess that it is possible that she might still have that test done today? I didn't hear about this Earthquake until this morning, as yesterday was Meghan's Birthday ( Big 19!!), and I was super busy all day long, and then was either gone last night, or entertaining a houseful of Teenagers, and didn't even have the News on. So, I see it on the morning news, and then when I log on, my MOM sent me an email last night telling me about the earthquake, and asking me if I had heard from Dana, or how she is...and to please let HER know as soon as I know something. I wish she would have called me last night instead, because then I might have been able to try calling easier? Or, maybe not, if everyone and their granny was trying to call at the same time, and the lines (if they were working at all) would have been all tied up? I just HATE that I didn't know anything about this until this morning!! That is what I get for NOT having the stupid TV/News on. Everytimg I do that, something SUPER important happens! I have been sitting here all morning, wanting SOOOOO badly to call her, and trying to figure out what the crap the time difference is (a big problem that I ALWAYS have ). I did solve that problem, though....here is a very nifty and useful clock thingy that I found on the Net. You can personalize it, and add up to 16 different cities from all around the world, so that when you click on your page, you have them all right there with all of their different CURRENT (!!!) Times. Pretty cool site that does lots of things with Time and Date stuff. Here is the Link: WORLD CLOCK Right now, as I am writing this, it is 4:41 am where she is. I am wondering when is good time to call. I don't want to wake her if she is sleeping, as I con only imagine how stressed out she must be after getting shaken up like that? And, if she had done all of the prep work for this test, only to have ti canceled...OR if she still IS going to go through with the test, having that to deal with on top of all of the Earthquake stuff. OMG! Poor Dana! If you get a hold of her...PLEASE post and let us know, Ok? I will do the same. I hope that she has power, and I hope that the phone lines are up. Have you (or anyone else) heard anything about rather the phones are working in Oahu (or parts of it) or not? And...she was posting yesterday about them being under a Flash Flood Watch/Warning (cant remember which one she said it was right now), because they were going to have some weather front come over them, or very near to them. Earthquakes AND Floods???!!!!???!! And all of this after the HUGE Flooding problems they had over the Spring/Early Summer, when I was worried that she was going to get washed off of that island. Dang! Hawaii has had it HARD this year. I really, really hope that she is ok. I hope that she has power, and I hope that she checks in SOON! She knows that everyone will be worried about her, but I bet that she will be surprised at how many threads there are talking about her and the earthquake. I know that it will make her feel good to know that so many folks cared and are worried about her. Not that we were all worried, but that we all CARE...if that makes sense? I know how much it means to me when I have something (like the Hurricanes last year, or even just bad flare ups like recently) and I come to the site and see everyone's well wishes and questions and what not posted there. And, you know how Dana is...sometimes I really don't think that she knows just how much she means and how important she is to SOOOOOOOO many folks. I think that I will try to call her in about an hour/hour and half? Maybe, if we keep on trying, someone will eventually get through? I know that I will keep on trying throughout the day (or however long it takes!) until I finally get through and HEAR her voice. Like I said, I will be sure to post and let folks know if I do get her. You and I need to have a "Catch up session" soon, Sweetie. I hope that you are doing ok. I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved Teddy. She was only a year older than my Puppy, Butter...and the same age as my Casper Cat. I don't know what I will do when I have to face the same thing you are going through now. I really hope that you are doing alright. Losing a family member is just so hard. (((Hugs))) Things should be calmer around my house now, at least for a little bit, so I can be on line a little more, and be looking out for you. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will be able to chat soon and catch up. I really miss our talks! Look for me while I am looking for you...Ok? (LOL, that sounded weird. Hopefully you know what I mean. LOL) Maybe we should set up a "Date"? I mean, it isn't like we can't EMAIL now (now that we got the addy thing all sorted out lol). Sheesh. I think that I need more coffee or something. Ok. I am ending this here before it gets ANY longer. I hope that everyone is doing ok, and I really, really hope that we hear from Dana soon! Love and (((hugs))) Jose Last edited by Joselita; 10-16-2006 at 10:18 AM. Reason: Made the link prettier....;-) LOL |

Jewells,
I wanted to say "Hi" to you too...since I jus kinda sorta busted all up in your thread, and then wrote to Claudia, without so much as a "Hi, how are you" or "kiss my butt" (not that I would say that to you! Just a weirdo southern type of saying ...LOL) or anything. Very rude, and I am very sorry. Thank you for posting this here. I see by the time stamp that it was at 4:30 something yesterday? When did the earthquake happen? I mean...what time was it over here? I have heard 7:02 there in Hawaii, but I can't figure out what time that is here.....very rusty leaky brain still. Sorry. I hope that things are going good for you? Is your weather being crazy? Ours is down here. Usually at this time of hear, we are still running around in short sleeves and shorts...but not now! BRRRRRRRRRR! And, today is rainy. I really hate cold, damp and rainy. I am already ready for it to be late Spring early summer again. How about you? Anyway..I just didn't want to have you think that I was totally ignoring you. I am sorry that I didn't think in my first post here. I am just all kinda of hyperspazing about Dana, and when I am so worried and being a MAJOR Hyperspaz, I just kinda run around like a chicken with my head cut off. That is basically what I did here. I am sorry for that. Ok. I am stopping here, before I ramble on and on about being a hyperspazing headless chicken kind of person. LOL...nice metal pic there, huh? Hope you have a good day today, sweetie. Love and ((hugs)) Jose |

Short and sweet as I'm rushing. Thank you Jewells, Jose, Abasaki, and Claudia, and everyone else posting on the other post as I can't post this twice!
Yes, we had 2 major earthquakes here in the Aloha State. 1st one hit us at about 7:07am. 6.6 on the Richter scale. Then from there they were 4.4 and then in the 3's. The last one hit at about 10:30am. We were already in a Flash Flood Warning on Oahu (my island) and expecting to receive heavy showers and thank goodness it was a Sunday Morning, so most people should have had emergency supplies. laffs. I didn't have ice? oh shoot! At about 7:25am, we lost power. Oh darn. Didn't see that one coming! It took about 40 minutes for our local wonderful radio broadcasters to get off the golf course (yes he was on the course) and one from home to get to the station and power up generators to get the station running and off "Automatic" ...and the reports started coming in that there was no tsunami generated!!! Yipee! Thank goodness we didn't need that. We had no telephone service, flash flood warnings or watchs, depending on where you lived, earthquake damage, and no electricity or phone service which included our cellular's. Mine? I hadn't charged it so I couldn't get through anyways...as it's service was sketchy. I live surrounded by mountains mostly, so my service is bad where I live anyways. The electric company start restoring service around 11:30am but restoring more than 1.3 million people on our island is tricky....so my area didn't come on until about 1am. YES...my procedure has not been cancelled. So during all this, I managed to get out and get 7lbs. of ice to keep it cold...and not have to go in and out of the refridgerator. I'm all CLEAN! LAFFS. I head out of here in about 1.5 hours and to the hospital via my son's still in his rent-a-car. Thank goodness. His new wheels hopefully will still be available today...picking it up at Matson. Oh, for those of you who didn't know he was hit broadside 2 blocks from our house a month ago and his car was totalled but not his body! He walked away. Now, back to the earthquake hit the Big Island of Hawaii. Not my island. My island is reporting very little damage. Some damage to some older homes. My home is fine. The Big Island of Hawaii, has some major damage. We are still in a flash flood watch although. It's raining like crazy off and on. Typical Tropical storms. The tourists is who I feel sorry for as the Airport is mess. Our business is taking a hit as of course, our mushrooms come in from San Francisco and obviously we don't know the status as of this second whether or not we are actually getting mushrooms today...and if so when. If we don't get our shipment...our customers are going to be pissy. So, I typed this fast...didn't spell check or anything. I should be home around 1pm or so my time...that's 4pm West Coast time and 7pm East Coast time. I'll do my best to get on here and check in. Claudia, thanks for trying to check in with me. I'm going to get one of those old fashion plug in phones. The phone co. said around 3pm that they were back on and that if I had one of those old phones it would work. Hugs to all...and Aloha...from our crazy state. When we do it...we do it in style and w/ Aloha! Happy Birthday Meagan! Oh to be 19 again. Dana |

Hi Dana,
You just caught me before bedtime - I am *so* relieved you're OK, that's great news. Hope the doc appt is OK (endo/colo - just what you need on top of everything, eh?) ..best of luck with it. So! My favourite island (you know I like Oahu, but you know I *love* the Big Island!) - all those bridges down, how will everyone get around? Blow it a great big kiss from me, will ya, and take one for yourself too. Oh yes, and I hope your mushrooms arrive - and I never told you I like your smiley pineapple, did I? I do.. all the best |

Hi Dana,
I hope your procedure went well. Someone posted an article here (??) and I thought of you when I read a few of the lines. It describes my problems with my tummy also: Central Pain "Visceral central pain is not rare, with most severe cases having an element of burning, nausea or overfulness in some hollow organ, such as gut or bladder. It is uncommon for this to exceed the pain of burning dysesthesia" "Burning dysesthesia, "like acid under the skin", is the central symptom, but not all have it in a severe version. The same goes for the other central pains, which range from lancinating or shooting, electric like pains, to exaggerated pins and needles, cramping or tightening pain in the muscles, overfulness in any hollow organ such as gut or bladder, and marked increase in sensitivity to normal pain (hyperpathia). I really relate to this.........Hope |
