Talking The Anything Goes Thread

Hi everyone! I've missed talking to my long time friends here, I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected with this wacky weather the country seems to be having. This is just nuts. One day it's 70 degrees out there and the next it's sleeting and freezing cold.

Hugs to you all

Debbie

Default Hi Debbie,

How are you doing?

The weather is about the same here. We have a cold day then hot. Right now they are saying we can have snow on and off for the next 4 days. We have had our share of it this winter.

Glad to see you post. Hope things are good for you and the family.

Talking HI Ada!

Hi Ada,

It's great to see you! Hugs!!

We haven't had any snow really, which bites big time. We get all these cold temps, then no snow...its not fair...I've said many times the ppl in canada are hogging all the snow ....This cold weather kills my arms. I've been having some issues...but I'm thankful I have a wonderful doctor now.

The kids are fine, almost grown now Ada...hard to believe it's been a lil over 8 yrs now since we all met on braintalk. The oldest is dual enrolling in college this semester...her final of high school. She is going to be a music major. and the youngest is in 10th grade now, and wants to be a school teacher when she goes to college.

So they keep me busy....

How's the boys?

Hugs
Debbie

I am in Canada on the west coast and we have hardly seen any snow *knockin on wood* Had a few snow dumps before christmas.. but it has been a much milder winter than what was predicted for here and across Canada, we have had a few T-shirt days here.. well if you stay in the sun and werent as coldaphobic as me I s'pose.. Problem is where I live is very windy and I can't stand the wind much anymore either *shrugs* I need a bubble lol

Hugs Debbie

well, i think you're all talk and no action when it comes to snow.....i've offered, time and time again, to let u have all the snow u want.....u can take it off the driveway, u can have what's on the sidewalk, u can even haul away the stuff on the lawn for all i care!....but do u ever come and take it away?....no, u don't!

can u guess from this that we had to shovel several inches worth out of the driveway yesterday?

Default Hi Debbie and Liz,

Liz, I could have given her all she wanted too in the snow department. We are finally seeing all of the ground after over 2 months and everyone says they have lost count of the snows.

The older people here in Co. says our winters are going back to how they were when they were kids. This is our second really snowy winter. It just didn't stop me from going this winter due to having a 4 wheel drive.

Debbie, The next snow I get, it's all yours.

Debbie, I did forget to talk about the kids which I'm like you I am good at. I know you are a great hands on Mom and they are doing so good. We have all became such good friends over these years. I talked to two on the phone last week and I love that. My friends are all passing and my best friend is in the nursing home now. I'm glad we all found each other and as Vicc said some day we will meet together in a better place.

My boys are great. They still spend one to two nights a week with me. I thought as they got older, they wouldn't want to be with me but they call me up if I haven't called them. I pick them up from school, we hang out, I take them in the morning. I am getting out more. I am seeing some better days except for this pelvic pain and I am having a cat scan Friday with contrast so they can see what is going on. If I can beat that, then I have it made. I still have to keep my minimal Methadone in me but that will most always be I believe. I have several other irons in the fire right now and enjoying it.

The boys are in the 7th and 9th. They are both doing good with grades, both in sports, and both have girl friends and they are very nice girls also. I am happy about that. The kids bought a home 5 blocks from me so they will be in it this month and the boys will be able to walk to see me all of the time.

How are you doing with your RSD? I hope you have it in check also. It sounds like it.

Liz, I wanted to say hi to you too and I am glad to see you around.

Love ya,
Ada

Default HI HI *waving*

I do see ya'll posting here now & then too. I too have my pain in check as long as I take meds on time. Here one day I was woke up to take my 6am meds. I went back to sleep & woke up later thinking I had taken my meds right???? But wonderin why the heck my feet hurt me so badly. Thought it might have been the weather changing back to cold & wet. WRONG!!! When getting my meds at 1:30pm I saw I never did take my 6am meds. TALK about PAIN............took until the next day to get back on top of the pain even taking extra pain meds & my BTP meds. I will never do that one again. So like I said the pain isn't too bad if I take my meds on time...........talk about & at oneself............geesh!!!

So good to see ya'll posting. We have had our share of snow this winter. To the tune of having to pay out a $500 deductible to fix our car. ICE & SNOW slid off the garage roof & took out or engine hood big time. Got my daughters car too but not as badly. I sure could think of other uses for that money darn it too. Like saving it for next years fuel oil bill. And oh btw the reason the car wasn't in the garage is because parking is at a premium where we live & so we have our camper trailer in the garage. So I too am sick & tired of winter. Like Liz posted to me this past week, She & I both are Febu-weary. Liked that btw Liz

I am hoping my little guys never tire of visiting me, but they moved further away now so I am getting prepared for that. Her Mom & I share every other weekend with the kids now. A bummer actually but so far it is working. Also the boys in school, Logan & Silas, hate their new school & hate living with Mom's BF. He is way strict, something they are not used to. Altho they need a firm hand, Sue & I think he is way too hard on them. And the BF & Mom fight constantly I guess. She really goofed up here I think, but is too proud to admit it also. Darn us humans & our pride. It is our biggest downfall I think. And the undoing of most of us. Anyway they are 6.5, 5.5 & 2 yrs old now. Baby is Romyn.

They are all a year older in the picture I have here. I need to change it huh?

Default Hi Debby,

I do know what you mean about keeping the meds in you. I take very little Methadone but if I skip one dosage and don't remember it for awhile then I am in horrible pain. Like you, I have to start popping them to get it calm down. I still don't take much though. The most I usually have to take is 10 mgs. of it if I have forgotten it. But the pain is unbearable.

I am sorry to hear about your car. I do know what you mean about using the money for other things. I went yesterday to have a tired fixed and it turned out I had a nail in a second one. It's the 3rd tire I have had to have fixed in the past couple of months along with me and the kids having to have 333. worth of work done on my transmission. If I had one month without an extra bill I would most likely be dead and that would be the reason for it. LOL

IF you stay close to your Grandbabies now they will stay that way. I was in the hospital the day both of mine was born so I have never been away from them for long. They are such joy for us aren't they. They grow up too fast too.

I know what you mean about the men too. Susan remarried about 10 years ago but Travis just loves the boys to death. He is at their games, he spends his money on them and they all do weekend things together. Their real dad is our problem but he is working now and hopefully will not drink as much. Susan made a bad mistake the first time. Maybe finally your daughter will realize she is in a bad relationship and get out.

Hugs to you.

Ada

Hi Ada,
I am closer to the 2 older boys than Romyn. My husband was afraid he would die of an aneurysm since having Kawasi's at 3 months old. He still is on Coumadin & has damaged arteries in his heart. We are hoping those will disappear by the time he 5 yrs old. He is a little over 2 now. But I was the grandma who held them all 3 right away after birth. All of them in less than 24 hrs after birth except Silas. He was born back east in KS City. But I flew back in 48 hrs as he had some problems at birth & they needed help. I know she wanted her Mom to go but she just couldn't leave her job when really she could have, she had the paid vacation time to take. I am glad I went tho. And I have taken one or the other every other weekend ever since Silas was around 4 or 5 months old.

Hey Claudia,
How is the weather tho??? I bet warm warm warm I am sorry Frank is still hurting so much tho. Sure seems to be always something huh? Oh btw it is the 'boys' that keep me busy, Logan, Sials & Romyn. I wish I had a grand daughter.........I see all those cute frilly girl clothes *L* but I love my little guys to death & would NOT give one them up for anyone. They are so darling. But all boys *L* especially the youngest. Only 2 & says no more kisses already. Now those we miss.

It is time to go sit down for the evening so ya'll take care..........

Love ya's,
DebbyV
