Help Who's Had Ketamine Treatment?

I'm a friend of (and caretaker - though we hate that word!) someone with RSD, and her RSD doc told her last week that there aren't any more treatments that can help her, other than trying ketamine.

Has anyone actually gone to Philly and gotten the 10 day outpatient, plus boosters, treatment? What is it like? Did insurance cover it?

Has anyone here gone to Germany?

Please share your experience ... we have a difficult decision to make. Obviously we are very scared by the options (doing nothing vs. ketamine)

Rochester NY. Did you have the series of boosters afterwards? (every 3 days, once a week, every 2 weeks)

Default Ketamine

well it may be closer for you guys to go to Manhatten then Philly...I didnt go for boosters because it didnt work for me so there was no reason to. The doc I went to is in the Hospital for Special Surgery- Excellent hospital!

what did it feel like while you were getting the ketamine? Did you have intense dreams, hallucinations, etc etc? I've read awful accounts of when people come off it.

Default Ketamine

I was so nervous to do it- took me a year to set the date. I did halluciante but it wasn't bad at all for me- I was never one to take acid when i was younger and I like to be in control. my hallucinations were peaceful for the most part ( I thought they were taking me to the chinese section of the hospital every day and everyone spoke chinese-lol - The worst part for me was coming out of it- I thought I was in the back room of a gas station and my husband couldnt find me...but even that wasn't so bad...So for me-if I knew it would help, I would do it again in an instant! Feel free to ask me anything- my email address is spudsailor@aol.com
