I have no life that isn't OK with my hand. Frankly by my old standards that's less than no life at all but we've all had to adapt. I've fought this thing at every step and every stage and still it's I who is forced to adapt. The change is out of proportion to the pain.

But I still enjoy my life when symptoms aren't too bad. It's a very different life and I'm still fighting to keep as much of the old one as possible. If it weren't for the fear and foreboding and the near utter helplessness my new life actually has some better aspects. I'm much more likely to appreciate the little things and am far more likely to see the good in people. I have "time enough at last" to explore my flights of fancy. While the old me would far prefer to travel and party the new me is usually content to travel virtually or just sit and talk with people. It's important to disconnect from the pain. This seems to make concentration impossible for very long but everything doesn't require constant attention.

I feel very lucky to have this site and the internet. I keep looking for reasons to hope and waiting for good days. While the journey may be generally downhill there are steps back and there are still vistas.

Good luck.
