Default I wish it were all this easy...

I've been having lots of dental work done this year...catching up on all that stuff that got pushed to the back burner when I got RSD. Had some teeth pulled and a bridge put in last Tuesday (yay for being able to smile without being self conscious). Only problem is...pain got worse instead of better over the past week. Went in today and it turns out the last tooth in the bridge is infected and needs to get pulled. Such is life...these things happen...but the pain has just gotten out of control which is why I went in. I had been taking Tylenol and Advil together every 4 hours and it just wasn't cutting it for relief.

Dentist prescribed antibiotics and hydrocodone. Took them 30 minutes ago and the pain is GONE. Hydrocodone does not even touch my RSD pain...but this mouth pain that was very intense...just disappears. Why can't the rest of the pain be this easy to get rid of? I mean...I know I have to keep taking the hydrocodone or the pain will come back but I honestly forgot what it was like to be in pain and then have the pain just go away with treatment. Funny how my norm with RSD makes this normal situation of: pain + pain pill=no more pain seem so bizarre.

I'm not up to all the jargon but it could be the "Sympathetic" part of RSD. I bet Michael knows. I've had two root canals and both after a temporary filling was applied exploded in huge amount of pain. Puss built up to the point it was a pressure cooker. I actually (advice of dentist, 2am in the morning) yanked the filling out myself. Nothing killed the pain before hand but when I pulled the plug on that filling----Presto, total bliss.
