Please consult a doc before trying this trick.
I was trying some one handed axing to remove a tulip tree stump when the axe became entangled in overhead wires. I couldn't hold onto it and it came down and split my ear. When the stitches went in at the ER my ankle improved greatly. It was my injuring the ankle which caused my symptoms to get a lot worse after having RSD for several years. I got the stitches out today and the ankle is still much improved. It might not last and it hasn't helped my hand but it's still encouraging. If it doesn't come back in the ankle maybe the arthritis in the left knee and ankle will clear up. You won't find the proceedure or the instrument in any medical books but, hey, whatever works. My sister noted that I look more like a mummy all the time when leaving the ER. With my ear and hand all wrapped up and bandages elsewhere. Maybe by the time they dig up the real Imhotep in a few years I'll either be "cured" or completely "mummified". |

LOL...
This totally sounds like something I would do! I'm always getting myself in trouble trying to do something stupid with one hand. Thankfully, I haven't taken an axe to my ear, though.

My daughter is going to help me work in a flower garden tomorrow and you are making me think twice about doing it. I've already fell twice this month, I twisted my left ankle last Friday when I feel. I tore up my right knee, hurt my right hand and tore up my right elbow. I think I will let her do the hoeing tomorrow. I don't need a toe cut off to see if I feel better. LOL
I am thinking maybe the meds they gave you for pain or to numb the ear area to sew it up might be what's helping you feel less pain. Just put the axe down and back away, you need those ears to hold your hats up. Ada |

Yikes.
And I knew the user name was Egyptian in origin. Or at least the same as the bad guy in The Mummy movie... Brendan Fraser... and the really pretty brunnette... I think she's British.... Sorry. Drifted off again. Not poking fun, I promise. Glad it wasn't any worse than that. Just be careful with the sharp objects, partner. "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" is a very early Pink Floyd song, BTW.

I think you need a drill to start a pyramid. ![]() It might be a sort of accupuncture but don't know. The swelling is coming down pretty fast now and I fear the ankle is probably returning to it's "normal" state. Perhaps a piercing (or 16) might be in order. |

I sure hope you continue to feel better, but I would find out if it was lidocaine because that can help CRPS alot. If it was try arange for a lidocaine infusion with yr pain doc (thats what I am going to be trying next month) aparently it can help for up to 3 weeks at a time.. I will be getting them every 3 weeks if it helps me. hugs bud Sandra |

Hi,
congratulations on your pain being delegated to the toilet - we have to think outside the square.....you have at the very least done that with a considerable measure of success, it would appear. Whatever works.......absolutely!!! Truly, I hope your ankle remains much improved & thanks for your humour. Cheers Auberon |
