Post Back From The Doc...

Hey all..I left a post last night that I was going to the Dr this afternoon...Here is the scoop!!

Well, good news and well sorta bad news I guess...The good news is the Dr doesnt feel that the RSD is spreading!! Yay for me!!! I was so relieved when he said that, it was like this major weight lifted off my chest!! Anyhow he said he believes that the reason Im having the pain in my lower back is deep nerve pain, that the nerve is pinched by some scar tissue from my lumbar laminectomy that I had back in August..So, I asked him ok, well then why am I having all this other burning/stinging/shock like pains all over the rest of my body, he said he feels because Ive been so stressed out lately, lack of sleep, depressed, mood swings ect, that my body and nerves are outta wack and that my body is just going haywire...He said he believes that the RSD is still localized to where he diagnosed it...Left foot/lower leg..I suppose that makes sense though, I have been extremely moody ect..Its crazy...So whats going on is he upped the mg of my Neurontin from 300 to 600 every 6 hrs, changed my pain medication from loratab 7.5 to loratab 10.5 1 every 4 hrs as needed for pain, and put me on 10 mgs of a antidepressent...He said hopefully with upping the Neurontin and going onto a antidpressent that will help the pain, and calm my nerves down and my mood, and help me get some rest! He did however talk to us about a nerve block, he felt that Im a good cantidate for it and thinks it will help ect, and put me into remission...So, this comming Monday Im scheduled for that...

Does everyone agree with this? Please let me know your input and comments!

Take Care everyone and have a very happy Halloween!!

Always,
--Heidi

Good Heidi! I'm glad you feel better

What kind of antidepressant, and what kind of nerve block and where? Yes, it does make sense. Also...some antidepressants help with the tingles/zinging feelings, just like the neurontin. I take effexor, but not for depression. Rather, for my rsd symptoms.

Hugs
