Attention Spread of RSD...

Hi friends!
My feet swelled up, my doctor said it's from the RSD Ok, lastnight it swelled up(Both feet, the right being the worst) I had to go to the ER due to the pain, burning. The ER doc. comes in. They do the routine.. take blood, ex-ray of my chest. I asked him if he ever heard, knew of RSD He said yes, I have. Ok, so I said you know, from this starting(RSD) in my wrist after carpal tunnal surgery up to my arm, then my shoulder, now down to my feet, one leg is awful!! Listen to what he said; He said, oh no, it's impossiable for RSD to travel anywhere, except to the site where you first got it!! Guys, this RSD is spreading now really fast and I just hate this. Also, my husband is in the hospital for a foot infection, he stepped on something in my son's pool apt. complex And him being a diabetic, the foot is pretty bad. He had surgery a couple of days ago and they will still not release him. Well, that's what has been going on with me so far. I do hope all is well with everyone here!!Please say some prayers for Bill and me. Thank you so much! Love to all, ~Desi

Default Hyperbarics for Diabetic Wounds

Hi Desi,
Your husband might want to inquire about hyperbarics for his foot wound. Diabetics' non-healing wounds are one of the approved applications for hyperbarics, thus it is often times covered by insurance. Just wanted to share this in hopes that it might be helpful.

Desi,

Aw sweetie. I wish I could help you thru this. Some drs. are soooo stupid. Wonder how they got their MD. Sorry to hear about Bill. What are they going to do. Have they mentioned doing surgery to remove the infection, then putting him on a VacPac. Remember, I had one a couple of years ago. It's the only thing that cleaned up and healed my foot. Keep me posted on how he is doing.

What are you going to do? I know they had suggested scs. I love mine. It really has made a difference for me. Unless I'm up and about too much, I don't have much swelling or discoloring in my feet. I hope they come up with something that will help you. You are so sweet, and you deserve so much more.

((((Hugs)))))

Mary

Hi Mary!! My Hubby is still in the hospital! It has been a week as of today! He may be coming home today. He had foot surgery. They found a large staple like spring in his foot. Him being diabetic, two heart attacks, etc. Now, they are concerned about his kidneys. I am in such a flare and I am running up there all the time. poor man of mine
Bill is on very strong antibiotics and they put a pick in him). He will be having the nurse come here every single day when he gets home, as he is 100% disabled from that darn VietNam war. I will for sure keep you posted on how he is doing, So be prepared for a lot of PMing from me. Just kidding, I won't be blabbing all the time, Mary!! LOL Thank you so very much my very good buddy! ~Love ya~Desi OH, forgot.. my feet are so warm and then go cold. It feels right now, like I am on fire from this beast of a disease. I hate that name.. RSD sucks big time! LOL thanks again sweet one!!

rsdbailey,
The Doctors didn't know nothing about RSD. They said they did but didn't. I called my family doc and he wanted me in his office first thing in the morning. He told me to stay off my feet as much as possible (Ya right, in this house?) LOL He also told me to elavate them, he gave me a water pill. I have to take half a pill twice daily. He also upped my percocett and I'm still on the pain patch. he is a "Great Doc" and at least he speaks ENGLISH when it comes to this beast we all have. Thanks!~Love, Desi
