Default RSD and plate removal

I'm new and am so thankful to find this site! I've had RSD in my left arm for over a year. Origionally I broke my wrist and arm in a fall and had surgery and a plate and pins inserted. RSD was diagnosed in May of 07. We moved last August, so I changed doctors and hand therapists. My new ortho doc is removing the plate in July to see if that will loosen my fingers and help with wrist movement, circulation, etc.. I'm a teacher so I planned the surgery for summer. My therapist is awesome and will be in the there at my surgery. Have any of you had this procedure? What results did you have? Did the RSD flare up? I'll have a sympathetic block right before the surgery ( I had 2 in the past) to hopefully prevent this. Thanks for any info or experiences you've had. Susie
