I have extreme burning in both my arms and neck. My Pain Doctor will only give Perocet. Syracuse DR have buckled down on hard pain killers sense so many doctors were prescribe it to people who really didnt need it. My fingers kill and my hands are swollen and sometimes my feet. My shoulder blades allways hurt. Its been two years and still get the rsd shuffel. Syracues doctors are terrible.

Hi there -Ketamine is supposed to help with the burning pain. Is there anyway you can consult a doctor who does this?

My doctor prescribes a 2% ketamine gel which I apply to affected areas.
I t helps A LOT !! albeit for brief periods of time but long enough to take the intensity down several notches. You have to get this made at a compounding pharmacy . All you need is a prescription from your doctor. It is "topical" remedy so he/she should be OK with it- not a narcotic. This is a very different use of ketamine than the one Debbie speaks of - apples and oranges peace GnP |

You might also try a menthol spray. It's a quick fix for the burning pain my partner discovered for her RSD. You can find it at any drug store. Usually around the area of the store where they keep icy/hot and heating pads.

Just how high a dose of Neurontin did he prescribe? It helps my burning pain alot, I am into this 4 to 5 yrs now & I still have the burning pain ALOT. I take 900 to 1200 mg of Neurontin 4 times a day for the burning pain. Anything less is a waste of time for me also.

You may also consider topamax which helps with the burning pain...neurontin did nothing for me but when put on topamax that is when my burning pain subsided to the tolerable level. Some people like it and some people don't...worth the ask and trial. Good luck. Jewells
