Exclamation Calling Everyone Calling Everyone

Please read the Wheelchair thread written by Sunshine and all the responses etc. And let me tell you. I wrote Allen a email explaining everything. He would proudly and happily accept the chair from Jen! Now lets all put our heads together and try to figure out how we can get the chair from Pennsylvania to California. This is extremely important. Probably the biggest event I have been a part of in a long time. I would be honored to help in any way I can. Allen is a wonderful wonderful friend of us all. And Jen is a Angel. No Salesmen will come to your door and you are not obligated in any way!!

Chin Up

Mark

P.S. I am feeling really warm and fuzzy all over right now. Ooohhh Myyy

I wonder if UPS or any of those businesses would do the shipping as a charity or at a discounted rate?

If she has the chair info -the weight could be looked up and a call into the variuos shipping companies...
OR
look up DHL, UPS etc online and email them asking about special rates for this situation- discount, chairity, pro bono??

It would be best if someone with both addresses and the chair info did the contacting.

The problem with shopping this via UPS or FedEx Ground is that you generally have to have it crated first and then it tends to be pricey.

Another alternative to look at is to contact a moving and storage company, which could then put it on the next truck from there area heading to California - even if it means waiting a few weeks to a couple of months - before it would happen. But that would at least eliminate the crating problem.

I would be happy to contribute to either of the above if Mark wants to be the stakeholder.

did something happen to the chair Allen did have, the red one? Was it his uncle who was going to re-possess it? Something like that?

I'd be happy to donate something to help with cost to send the chair to him... if Allen does have the red chair still, perhaps this could be a backup? Or another member needs one?

Jules

EDITED --- I went back to the BT1 forum and found the post where I had asked Allen about his chair when BT1 first came back up - that was Oct. - he says it has been every where, but he is concerned about how much life it has left in it.....

Michael... did it finally die? Sounds like if we can get this one to him - it would be a much better one!!!
