this is my 2 cents but it is a fact that there are people who get injured and get a script for pain meds the injury has healed and they go back to the dr or more and say they still hurt just for the meds because they do get that high. for me i am in so much pain and do believe that when people truely have pain they dont get that high. but keep in mind that there are people who do abuse there meds and do get high not every one but it is a fact go to recovery or aa and listen you will hear some say i am addicted to pain meds for that high. dont lose site of the real world just becasue we are in so much pain

There are people who will try to abuse any system.
If you have RSD, you are NOT one of those. If you're getting "High" on your meds, tell your doctor to back you off!

We end up having to fight the system because of the abusers!
How fair is that?

I think the last sentences caused some confusion - i spaced it a bit so it is easier to read.

i know for me - sometimes my eyes miss or jump a line when they are all together. Often I read 2 or 3 times to make sure I didn't misunderstand.

I'm sorry Michelle,

You've got to remember, (I have topomax, prn for tremor), but,
PAIN will make you think less clearly, and if that's what we're talking about here, it's a completely different thing!
That's not "High",
That's having your thoughts obscured by pain!

Again, I'm sorry, I did not mean to insinuate that, Michelle!

i wanted just add a tiny comment here. i think andrea your paper was great. i have tried for years to put it on paper so to speak just never got the words right period ..

but its true i had to go thro lenghty court case from my car accident that caused RSD 4 yrs worth of lawyers insurance companies etc. for them to tell me that i couldnt be that sick if i could have children !!! imagine that because they were makin the decisions for me (didnt know that one )

anyways. the state that i lived in at the time has very strick rules on punitive damages not many have ever gotten on 1million in any court case so i was screwd i wish i had something like this 11 yrs ago to show people that there really is something horrible wrong with me due to a drunk driver that plowed his car into the car that i was RIDDING IN ... and runied my life !!!

ok im done thanks for listening

carrie

Carrie,
why would you be sorry?
Did you ask for this?
This is where we come to rant, and "empty our hearts", to each other!
Or, at least that's what I think, as a newby!

Just think, if this were the "Wild West", a lawyer'd be runnin' for the hills, if someone in your family had a "gun that carried fame"!

Well, they must've been some days, but,
You've NO REASON,
Nor does anyone else, for carryin' on a bit from time to time!

Oh, excuse me,
were we all supposed to be "corralled up" like cattle,
and act like we're on drugs?

BECAUSE WE'RE NOT!

Hah!

Giddyup!

Don't they know by now that women who want to have children *will* have children no matter what. But you're right, they will use everything they have on you against you.

I was in court for 10 years. The court itself appointed doctors that weren't knowledgeable about RSD, first an oncologist and then three orthopedists. I still don't know how that could possibly happen.
