Default Hmmm Ummm Hmmm

That's right Jose - "Rooster"!!! I am the biggest **** of the walk and don't you none forget it! LOL!! Seriously I get just as worried over the youngens as the next oldie. Frogga you like the nickname ATallOne? It comes from being 6'5" tall. People would always and some still do say my your a tall one. Of course being a smarty I reply with something like "you think so"? "I never noticed". And as far as differences between men and women and RSD sheesh the list could go on. Your hormones reek havoc on your systems as well as your estrogen getting all outta whack and our testosterone gets screwed up. Talk with some of the other ladies on here. They'll tell you how badly the RSD has screwed up their system. It is scientifically proven that their is a huge difference between the two. But it does not make it any easier on either sexes. We all need virtual hugs everyday!! Chin Up!!!!

Mark

Tonight I have decided that I have had enough. I am going out with a friend to have coffee and just chill for a couple of hours and when I get back I will then go to bed.
Um, sweetie...now tis my turn to play "Mother Hen" - do you REALLY think coffee is the best thing to drink when you are having problems with sleep? Hmmm??? I think you should stick to a nice herbal tea. In fact, if you like tea (or even if you don't, cuz those who don't usually DO like this) try something called Yerba Mate. You can order it online. Not only is it "like" coffee with the "wake up" effects but has less or no caffeine, and also has "healing qualities" (or so they say). A friend of mine swears by it. Good for the mind, body and soul. Check into it with a google

it wouldnt suprise me if i have a minor depression atm - just it's too cold, im too sore and i have no form of proper mate support here (lots of friends, but don't know them well enough yet to go "i hate my life" without them thinking im suicidal - when in fact i just mean im fed up of having RSD and just want to whinge for an hour or so).....

it's just SUCH an isolating condition!
yes, it is an isolating condition...hence the reason message boards like this were created. I'm so glad you found us, and we found you. we all bring something to each other. It's what makes this world such a wonderful place

ts nice having a load of "RSD mums" (seriously.. my mum is great, but try and explain to her why I'm struggling and she's like..... well you knew you would...
Let's think about this now....I have a teenager boy - He's 15, and he's driving me absolutely BONKERS at the moment. So, if you are saying I'm your mum, that must mean you are my daughter, which means he is your brother...so does that mean I can ship him out to visit you for a while?

frogga,
Sorry to hear about all the sleepiness you are having. Same problem here too. Taking Lyrica has mad it MUCH worse for me tho so am in the process of weaning off of it with my Doc's knowledge of course. I slept all night & all morning until April came by today at 11:30am knocked on the door. I am now up but ohhhh I want to go lay back in my recliner & go right back to sleep again. *sighing* * ly* But also like you I had gone years & years due to Fibromyalgia with only a few hours of sleep at a time ever. I use to take Ativan just so I could sleep atleast 4 to 5 hours before going to work the next day After RSD hit (it disabled me) & I was finally on the meds I take now I don't need anything to help me sleep, cause all I do is sleep it seems. All that Josie has listed is definitely stressful. I know that sleeping too much is stressful for myself without any of the rest of the stressors you are dealing with thrown into the mix. But yes you should see your doctor about the insomnia. I agree with Joselitah that your 'insomnia' could be stress related Jose is one smart lady in all areas that I have found. (Jose, now dont you dare go disagreeing, you are too...smart that is *Giggling* ) She really does think things thru, she has too cause she has had to raise 2 kids on her own. She still has both at home, one in college nearby & one a Senior in High School. (Boy do I rememer those days with my own. LOL oh indeedy I do!!! I too raised 2 kids basically on my own. That has been about 10 yrs ago now.)

Like LisaM I too take Provigil to help stay awake. And if I take it after 12 noon I too have a hard time falling alseep if I can at all. It is a drug given to people with Narcolepsy to help them stay awake instead of falling asleep all the time too. It does take the sleepy's away, but I don't take it every day either. I take it when I know I need to stay awake to do something or to get something done. One example is: I take it when one of my 'little guys' come to stay with me. (little guy/s = grandson/s) Also if I take too much at once (it comes 100mgs or 200mg caplets which you can break in half) then my heart will start pounding. Or rather it feels like it is pounding but my heart rate is ok actually. But I do agree with her that taking Provigil might be a viable solution for you. Since I only take it a couple times a week it doesn't mess with your sleep at all the days you don't take it I have found so perhaps you have some days you could get more sleep than others. I have not found that it interferes with any of the other meds I take which are Morphine Sulfate, Neurontin, Baclofen, Evoxac, Lyrica, & Trental.

wow after reading what all you have for classes each day again I say WHEW.....I must say.....you have so much to be proud of..............Your folks should be very proud of all you do accomplish.............I know I am

and I agree as for Marc being a mother hen.........he sure is *ducking*...........

A TALL ONE, every time I see your name I think of giraffes....I collect them, doesn't matter what form or made of I collect them. I even have a license plate holder saying "BIG TIME GIRAFFE LOVER" on it I love em........so graceful when they walk or lope. Talk about getting around diversity???!!! With that long long neck..........I took to them after whiplash took me outa myself for so long. I started collecting them then & even for my last BD my hubby had the neighbor gal who does glass etching make one of two giraffes almost kissing with purple around it. It hangs over our kitchen sink in the window. Soooooooooooo cool to look at when the sunshines in the window. Anyway...........I also thot that you must be quite tall for that handle.................

"Rooster"!!! I am the biggest **** of the walk"
I laughed so hard as I hadn't heard that little ditty since I was a teenager from my Mom of all of people at that *ROFLOL"

Artist Artist!! don't scratch my eyes out pleasssseeee *LOL* I am one who can make a friend very easily. As my children say......"GGEEEEE MOM you embarass me.. You can talke to anyone, anywhere, about anything at anytime." Hence why I get so "windy fingered" on here. *LOL* OOPS!!

BTW.....does anyone know what this symbol *€* stands for I just can't figure that one out.......and ** inquiring minds want to know............* *

LisaM,
my my my you are a good mum too...........do you have kids???? well DUH I just read that yes you have a 15yr old who is driving you bonkers *LOL* again boy do I remember. Sometimes it is even worse after they get into their 20's Ask me I know they do Talk about confusing...whew.......

Anyway good luck to you Rosie........
To all here's hoping for as pain free a day as possible,

hey debs - i think that some of the insomnia is stress related really. mainly a huge work load + RSD brain + inability to type + being 5 hours from home (my grandma lives with me and has lung cancer atm and had a spinal cord compression so is paralysed and mum cares for her full time and works full time - so am having to do the 5 hours travel at least once a fortinght to give her a break, or at least another different adult (and my carer who helps mum out) in the house. Yay. travelling with RSD not good!)

Dont think the UK drs will go for Provigel but I see my neuro next month so I'll see what he says (rheumo is anti drugs, pain dr is pro drugs and anything i need and neuro is in the middle). but it definetly sounds good.

anything is better that the wading through glue experience I have atm... !!

thanks! rxxx

Default Hmmm Tapping Feet hmmmm

Cock A Doodle Doooo!!! Alright you hens get off your feathers and get a busy right now. The big boss is here. (As he cowers waiting for eggs to be thrown in his face) By the way there is a price to look up my nose! But for you "Nosey Ole Hens" (running fast now) (wow its a miracle I can run!!) I'll let you look for free! But you shorties might need a step stool. Bring your own.

Lisa don't you know - they don't have coffee in England sheesh!! All they do is drink TEA!! You know, "A spot of tea here - A spot of tea there"!! "Have tea with the Queen!!" Toodles! Hey I'm all up on my English history. God save the Queen!

Seriously - Frogga drink what ever ya want. Have a pint or two on me. Heck your young! Enjoy. You'll recuperate much faster than I would. Cheers! There is that not sound advice from the BIG Rooster!!!!??

Chin Up!!

Mark xoxo
