Default Meteor shower

Hi,

Don't know if anyone else is interested in this (astronomy! Yes ), but this weekend is supposed to be best for seeing the Leonid meteor shower. It continues for a couple more weeks, but these next few days they should be closest.

Some years here in HK it can be spectacular, nearly a firework show - but I think not this year, rats and drats! Sky last night was overcast, as it is this morning, so I don't think I'll be seeing it so well this year. Never know though...

Anyway, if you're bored and looking for something to do....just go out at night, look up and wait....good luck! (Usually later or just before dawn is better..)

all the best!

Default I Don't Dare!

Remember Artist I live on the ocean! It's not safe to look up around here day or night. You never know what you might find landing in your eyes. I have a huge Plover sanctuary just a short ways away. They local Wild Bond Society has been protecting them for about 10 years now. I guess they are on the endangered list but all I know is they taste like checken!

Chin Up! Eyes closed!

Cybill!

Plovers schmovers!! I've got grey heron, egrets, sea eagles...and I can still see the stars (when it's not cloudy ) ...here ya gotta be careful of the big flying beetles, like kamikazi hershey bars...this is a wild island - but yeah, know what you mean - my roof needs a cleanup pretty often! Need a see-through umbrella, I guess..but for me, anything to see the stars!!

So..er..Plover Pie? 'Spose it must be like quail..?? Maybe if I'd grown up on that I'd be 6'5" instead of 5'4"?? Maybe I should be adding it to my Omega 3, fish oil, etc etc supplements...I could use a few more inches. You said you don't fit a bath - must be a fortune to be made for someone, you know, outsize household stuff.

Actually, I had a friend your size, a little taller - he had his entire office made to fit him. No one who came in actually noticed (cause everything's only that tiny bit bigger than normal)....but somehow all his deals always worked out for him...interesting psychology

OK, gotta walk the doglet....all the best!

So you guys are afraid to look up. I am constantly looking down. I have to put my garbage out for pick-up between 4 am and noon. Since I have raccoons, cats, etc. I go out just before daybreak so they don't tear into the bag. I sing and make as much noise as I can while constantly shining my flashlight beam everywhere, terrified I might accidentally come accross a skunk.

Now, I have had bird doo-doo in my hair but there is nothing meaner than skunk spray. Peeyooo! Lil

Smile Birdie doo, bugs and meteors. My, the things that come up in our threads! LOL

I haven't had birdie doo in my hair (*knocking furiously on wood and hoping and wishing that I don't!* ), but I DID have a Slug in my hair once. Does that count? It was pretty yucky and nasty. My poor Mom couldn't get it out, it grossed the poor guy I was out on a date with out, and my DAD was the only one with the patience, and evidentially the stomach, that could sit there and ....uh.....remove it. And, of course, being a teenager at the time, I was the essence and picture of calm and patience, and wasn't doing anything like "Freaking Out" on my end of it. Oh no...not me! Calm and steady stays the course and all of that. ROFLAMO

Slug Slime + Long Hair = Some sort of sticky, gross and disgusting mutant gluey hair ball from Hell. Add the slug that is still producing the slime in the mix....and, then you have the same Muntant Hair Ball from Hell, only it is ALIVE! (we need a pukey or sick face or something. LOL)

Yep....that one was just a little more than my Mom could stand. LOL.

Hmmmmm. I don't think that I went out with that guy again, either. Ah well. He wasn't all that and a bag of chips, as they say. Besides, if he hadn't got me hemmed up against the stupid Japanese Tulip Tree in our front yard, trying to be "Mr Smooth" (NOT! ROFL), I wouldn't have gotten the stupid yucky slug in my hair in the first place.

And..it was just a slug after all.....LOL. I was just glad that my Dad had the patience to sit there and pick the thing out, so that I didn't have to get some kind of horrible hair cut!

Anyway....Artist, I TOTALLY Forgot about the Meteor Shower! We were supposed to see it best over here on the Eastern side of the US. I am in the South East....so I thought I would give it a whirl. It was supposed to go on.....after 12, I think? I forgot...( ), but I don't think that I would have seen anything, since we had started getting some clouds coming in again.

Aren't you supposed to be able to try to see it again tonight, too? Maybe folks can try again, if that is the case. We will be Mostly Cloudy down here, though. Sucks, because we are ALWAYS "Mostly Cloudy" when the neat things go on! I think that I have managed to get in one really good Lunar Eclipse in recent years, that the clouds didn't mess with......oh...and that I didn't forget. LOL

I hope that you got to see it? Witnessea had said over on the FF that she was going to try to watch it, With her (Digital??) VIDEO CAMERA!! And, that she would try to get some picks up to share, if she could! I hope she got to see it, and I hope that she remembered the camera, and I hope she figured out how to use it, and then how to get the pics up somewhere where we can go and watch! LOLOL...that's kinda a lot of "hoping", isn't it?

Ok...got to go...leg is dead.

Love and ((hugs))
Jose

Talking Meet My Buddy

This is my best buddy Percy. He showed up one day about 3 years ago and never left. He has it made since I have a nice backyard with water gardens which he loves to bathe in. But he can be a little dangerous to us in the flying near your head department, but for the most he is the bomb. He is wicked friendly and funny. The cats pay him no mind and the dog thinks he is just part of the family. We never let him in the house. But if he had his way he would be on the lounger in a heart beat hollering for someone to peel him a grape!!

Chin Up!!

Mark

Hey,
Nice birdie, lovely backyard and garden - you're training that Percy right, next thing it'll be "Come up and see me sometimes" or "Is that your baccy tin in your pocket or are ya just pleased to see me?- he looks pretty gay, that slightly camp cocking of the head (will that be asterisked I wonder?) you never can tell.. And they do like tall objects to perch on, no wonder he chose you...

Great pix, Mark the place looks just lovely...(hums the song JEEEEAAALOUSY...)
all the best!
