Default Still learning about CRPS

Hi Everyone,

I fractured my ankle about 5 months ago playing softball. It was a simple fibula fracture that didn't require surgery. After going 12 weeks without any healing, I went to get a second opinion and was also diagnosed with CRPS.

My initial care team was telling me to ice my foot to reduce the swelling (which I now know was bad for the CRPS). Recently, the pain is almost completely gone (still occasional pain but it's difficult to differentiate CRPS pain from the non union pain), and the CRPS seems to have migrated further down (i.e. just my foot and toes now) but I still have significant swelling, discoloration, and temperature difference in my foot. Additionally, the color goes away with my foot being elevated for ~1min except for the ends of the three smallest toes and in the morning after waking up, there is very little swelling. Does this seem normal? And does CRPS delay fracture healing?

Hopefully my fractured ankle heals soon so that I can start trying to do more physical therapy. At this point, I just want to walk and play with my son again.

I hope all of you are pain free and doing well,
