**Edited to add this:** I've just seen this thread in Forum Feedback that seems to be saying that the post form is time-sensitive. If this is so, then we should all write anything that may take a while in some other programme first, then copy and paste!!
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=7637 (original post) Don't worry, Moonstar, no rush...whenever you find time, we're here now and we'll still be here next week...sometimes posting can be a problem, you think it's sent but it isn't, or you think it isn't and post twice, happens to all of us. But I know how very, very frustrating and infuriating it is to write a long post then lose it.. really drives you crazy....sometimes pressing the "go to previous page" thingy will get it back, not often though....I try to copy what I've written as I write, but usually forget - or write it in another word program then copy and paste..don't worry, though, we're here anytime, you just look after yourself, all the best Last edited by artist; 12-02-2006 at 09:11 AM. Moonstar,
Oh...I am so sorry! ((Hugs)). Artist made a very good suggestion. In fact, it is what I always do, no matter what I am writing, be it a post here, an email, or whatever. I first write it in my trusty WordPerfect, and then copy and paste it into the text box thingy when I am through. Doing that has saved my butt more times than I can count, and then I probably even really know about, since I didn't even realize that there was any time limit on how long you have to respond once you have that text window/box thingy up and opened. Plus all of the times that I have lost power here....when that happens, then next time that I turn on my computer, and open up WordPerfect it says "You have an unsaved back up document. Would you like to open this up now, or delete it?" YES!!!! Makes me so happy to see those words! All of that work is not lost! It might be for naught, because I don't think that lots of folks read my posts....but at least it wasn't lost! LOL See...I think that folks around here think that I just sit down and whip out these posts that I write, all at one setting. Nope. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have to stop and start many, many times before I am done. I can not sit here at the computer for long periods of time, because of the RSD that affects my right foot, leg and lower back; and because of other back problems that I have. I also can't type for long, long periods of time because of the RSD that affects my right hand. Granted, it isn't as bad as my lower body RSD, nor is it as bad as what most other folks here with upper body RSD experience...but it is there all the same. I have to have lots of breaks, and plenty of freedom to be able to stop when I need to for as long as I need to....and to start again when it is good for me to do so. So, with typing here on the computer, I always use the Word Processing programs to help me be able to do that. I can always save whatever it is that I am working on, and come back to it later....or leave it up and running on the screen (since WordPerfect is so nice to me...and usually always saves whatever it is, even if the power were to go out, or the computer to freak, or whatever. LOL). Besides....the Spell Check is right there and easy to use. I LOVE spell check..and I NEED Spell Check. BELIEVE ME, you all (or at least those of yous guys that read my posts...LOL) wouldn't want me to not be able to use Spell Check! I have the most gaseous brain in the history of the world, and forget how to spell the simplest words. Doesn't matter what kind of vocabulary that I have, if I can't remember how to SPELL the friggin' words so that other people can understand what the crap I am trying to say to them, does it? ROFL! So, my WordPerfect is set to put a little red underline under the words that it says "Ummmmm....Yeah? This isn't a real word, Dummy!" ROFL. When I get frustrated enough by trying to spell it multiple times with no success or erasure of said "red underline", then I can high light the word, hit "Spell Check" and get a list of what it THINKS I am trying to say. ROFLMAO! Sometimes that is quite interesting, since nothing in that list will be anywhere NEAR what I am trying to say... But, the most important reason for using some sort of Word Processing program is to have a copy of what you are writing, so that it doesn't get lost in Computer Limbo land, and you have all the time you need to work on it. You can also save the more important stuff to your hard drive, or to a floppy disk (as in the case of the important things that you wrote to, about, and for your beloved David). Anyway...I hope that you start feeling better soon. I have seen that you have said that you haven't been feeling well, and have been having a hard time of it pain wise lately. I am so sorry ((hugs)). I hope that this crazy weather we have been (and still are) having isn't making things worse for you. Please try to not let things such as lost posts "Devastate" you. It is upsetting when it happens, and it has happened to all of us, but you can maybe think of a different way to say what was lost, and a better way to write it (so that it doesn't get lost), and try again when you feel more rested? It's all good! Please, try to not worry...Ok? Much love and ((hugs)) Jose |

I used Word to make documents for many things - listed all my symptoms, physical therapy, and the history of my work injury/comp claim and many other things that I need to keep track of for myself.
It is good to have all of these saved on your own computer - then you can post a copy of it - edited if needed- to the forum.
