Can someone please tell me the difference between 'Interventional Therapy' and 'Occupational Therapy' and there is also something called 'Behaviorally Oriented Occupational Therapy'? Anyone know which type of these therapies are best for treating CRPS? I still haven't been able to get a straight answer from my doctor about that. I am being sent to an Intervention Therapy pain clinic and I just want to know what to expect...I'm scared of more painful activities and less of my opiates, which seems to equal MORE pain. Thank you in advance for your thoughts

well this is what I think I know(lol) until my dr changes it again.
interventional is trying to get your to deal with pain with out addicting pharmaceutics its a mix of PT, group sessions, and pain monitoring. occupational therapy is another way to say we will try to train you and your body to cope with pain art work... again this is how I understand it. and my dr,s keep confusing me with the way they describe it.

OT is to get you as functional as possible in doing activities of daily living and working.

Interventional pain management......in layman's terms..... often involves needles (trigger point injections, nerve blocks, etc)

Not sure about interventional therapy, but I believe that occupational therapy is for the smaller, individual areas. i went to a regular therapy person for overall therapy and and OC for my hand and arm. Not sure if this helps. Prayers.
