Smile Wow, The new meds are Great

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you all know that I think my dr. has found the best meds for me. It is so good so far. It is the Opana ER, and the Lycra. I don't know which one, but my money is on the Opana ER. My pain has gone from about a 9 to about a 2. All my back and leg and feet pain is almost gone. I know Opana is pretty new on the market, that in the past it has been available in IV form, but now that it is in pill form I think more drs will be using it. I hope it works as well for everyone else as it seems to be working for me. Ok..I have been sleeping a lot, but when I'm awake, I really awake, and pretty much pain free. I understand the the sleepiness will get better over the next few days. I just wanted to let you all know that this may be something you would like to talk to your drs about. Let me know if anyone has every tried it, or if you can get your dr. to let you try it.

Hugs
Mary

Ok.I guess no one has tried Opana ER. As I said, it is kinda new on the market and I don't know how many drs. are using it yet. It is now Thurs. and I feel so much better. I feel like I'm me again and it is wonderful. I'm still a little sleepy this mornings, but then it is cloudy and rainy out so that isn't helping any. In' so excited abut this med. I've read a lot of reviews about it, and most of them are great. It seems people have gotten a lot of their lives back using this. I'm doing so well the DH is afraid that I will really overdo it and not take it easy. I really understand his concern, but I know that I'm able to do the things I have to do every day, (clean stalls, feed dogs, cats, etc), and instead of being in such pain, I'm doing ok. I really like it so much.

Hugs
Mary

Heart

Hi Mary,

I'm SO glad to hear that you are getting so much relief from the meds - that is great news!! You have been through so much these past few months and it's about time you got some relief!! I really hope that the meds continue to help you and you're in my thoughts - it's always nice to hear a positive story for a change and it gives me some hope that things can get better!!!

I haven't been on the Opena ER but have heard from a few people that are on it. I have been on Lyrica before and it didn't help me and I gained LOTS of weight so my doctor decided to take me off it.

I'm SO glad to hear that you are doing so well and I hope it gets even better for you!! Please listen to your DH also and not overdo it too much - I know it's real hard when the pain is low but the last thing you want is to overdo it and have some set backs!!

Tinking about you!!

Default Hi Mary,

I am very happy to hear that you are doing sooooooooo much better.

You have been through so much. The Drs. right though. You don't want to start thinking you are superwoman and overdo it. I did that many times while I was trying to get better and still do at times.

I hope that new med continues to do you good. I can tell by the way you write you are on cloud 9.

I have never tried that med but I do think it is pretty new. I didn't like the Lyrica at all.

Take it easy.

Ada

Ali

Thank you for your good thoughts. I really appreciate it. It's amazing the difference in the way I feel. I know Lycra puts on weight, but for some reason I have noticed that I am not hungry at all. With the Opana ER, you have to take it on an empty stomach every 12 hrs., so I have to wait to eat so I don't mess up the meds. And in all honesty, I really don't care if I eat. I was hoping the Topomax would have that effect, but no luck. I don't know why this combo of meds is affecting me like this, but I'm not going to complain. Figure, if I'm not hungry and I have more energy and I don't hurt, so I can do more, which means more exercise, then I should lose some weight.
Do you remember what your friends thought of the Opana ER when they were on it? Any information would be great. From the lack of responses on this board, I will presume that not many people have heard or used this drug. All the information I've gotten has been on the internet and you know as well as I do that you can't always believe what you read. But it does seem that most people that take it have wonderful results. I've already warned my horses that I'm feeling better that their lives of doing nothing is coming to an end.

Hugs
Mary

Mary,
Your story is wonderful. You will of course, need to watch for side effects, but, I would hope that you take some form of your story to some new folks who check in, and are so "down" on their hope...
Prayers for you, and your continued success!
You are a real "Upper"!

I really wish I could sing from the top of the buildings about how great I feel when I'm awake. With the rsd (or not) spreading to may back from all the scs surgeries, I've not been able to stand up straight, and I usually have to lean of anything available. If I have to bend down to pick something up, it would hurt so much I'd rather just leave it on the floor. Now I can bend down without much discomfort at all, and I was standing and then sitting upright without pain. Sometimes when I move different I can feel it, but I think that is because I haven't moved some of those muscles in a long time. I wish I could stop raving about it. I'd love to have someone else here who has tried it or is currently on it, but it doesn't look like it. It might be something others might want to ask their drs about. I really hope it keeps working like it is now.

Hugs
Mary

Mary, I am so glad the Opana Er is working for you. I tried the Opana. It was good but I couldnt continue because of one side effect that was bad for me. It cgave me terrible constipation frankly. Worse than everything else I had ever been on. I was disappointed because it was a decent medication and the ER is probably even better. I am glad you have found such great pain relief. I hope it continues.
Hugs, Denny
