Sorry, your having a bad day. I know how you must feel. I have full body RSD/CRPS and some days I want to scream at the top of my lungs because of the pain.
In the middle of the night when my pain wants to keep me awake. I turn on some peaceful music that I like. I sit in the rocking chair with a bottle of water. I close my eyes and take deep deep breaths of fresh air through my nose then I release it slowly through my mouth. Visualize all the darkness of pain when you breath in and butterflies carrying your pain away as you breath out. I know it sounds silly but it works for me and I hope it will calm you down. I burn very bad all over the more water I drink the more it helps.
I hope your doctor will be able to help and you will be able to get out to the pharmacy.
Try to do something to keep your mind off the pain so you don't get too anxious the anxiety will only make you feel worse. Try to find something funny on TV or something to read or call a friend that always makes you feel good. One other thing that has always worked for me is my prayer to God to cover me with his peace of mind that passes all understanding.
Take care,
Sherrie

My swelling comes and goes the worse the pain the greater the swelling. Both improve when I relax. I know relaxing is easier said than done it takes real effort sometime.
Try the breathing it really helps along with a little talk with God.
I hope you find comfort soon!!!

Do you have a heating pad? And any NSAIDS? I wear gloves and socks to bed and bring the heating pad to keep me warm. If my husband would let me I would bring my dog as well, but he has his own bed next to me on the floor.

I really hope you feel better soon. Call your doc in the morning (or get a new one) if you still are not feeling well.

Good Luck, Sandy

I agree with many posts toward your question. I use Epsom salt baths. heating pad, and medications. I also have a Tens Unit that really helps during my pain flares.

The weather changes that come about with RSD patients, remind each of us that we are human barometers. No fun at all...

I am so sorry your doc told you to "wait this pain flare out"...apparently, you need him/her to try another med to get the severe pain flare, relief. Consider a Tens Unit.

Heart Thank you all

Thanks for the tips! I do have a TENS but when I am hypersensitive I can't handle having it on my skin....I tried the heating pad...will get the salts. Had an appt. with my pain dr today, he still won't give me anything for breakthrough but upped my morphine dose. He said the narcs won't help for breakthrough...true? I have a really high tolerance so they don't like to give me meds....don't know why I do I never did drugs or anything. Anyway I am doing better today and just wanted to thank you all again for your support!

I feel for you. I woke the same way yesterday morning & couldnt understand it. Then it started snowing here too. I live in the desert & was expecting snow. I am waiting it out too. I hope it passes quickly for both of us. My weather is supposed to get better. I hope yours is too.
Hugs, denny

PS I feel your doc is wrong about a breakthrough med. I take MS contin for extended relief & dilaudid for breakthrough. It helps!
