Help Update

Well, I took my boyfriend back to the doctor today. We saw the good doctor and she is now putting him on morphine, I think it is called Katadine?? I don't have the name in front of me. He starts tomorrow, 1 pill 2x a day. She said there isn't much else to try other than surgery and my bf doesn't want surgery in fear that it will spread more and rapidly.

Does anyone know about this medicine and how if at all it works? The doctor also completley took travel away from him.

Well, let me know any thoughts and what I can expect from him from side effects.

Red face

The med sounds like Kadian which is slow release morphine. I currently take 60mg twice a day. Knock on wood this has been holding me well for quite awhile now. I do take Immediate release morphine or Dilaudid for breakthrough pain. Contrary to what most people assume the Kadian does not make me loopy or dopey at all. Hope this helps your bf.

i took this med years ago when it first came out. kadien right. ?! it is time relased morphine .. 12 hrs of relase of the meds. it did help me along side ms contin and ms IR which are also morphine base meds.. but thanks to RSD i developed a anaphaixs reaction to morphine 5 yrs ago. so basicly all i can have is fentanyl . since i am literally allergic to everything once again thanks RSD .. i hope that this helps him and can lower his pain
