I do know that some medications can give you a dry mouth. I drink, sip actually, tea or coffee or water, throughout the day.

Protonix

After Neurontin and other meds were prescribed, I woke up one day and could hardly talk! It was difficult to swallow, but no sore throat. I saw PCP, she said due to all the meds I am taking, I have developed GERD. Acid reflux disease. She prescribed Protonex(40 mg.) once a day. I took it immediately, and by the end of the second day, after coughing all the phelm up, I could Talk again.:)

Protoinix is a wonderful medication. It helps empty stomach out quicker, so it is difficult to get back to an acid reflux situation

I hope this helps you.

I sometimes have trouble swallowing... feels like things get stuck. It doesn't feel like a sore throat, only like my swallowing capability just forgets how to work. Kind of like a muscle spasm happens when I try to swallow and I have to get my throat to relax before the food goes down. It's very frightening for me when this happens.

There is some kind of cold going around where I live too... sore throat, coughing, sinus infections... I would rule out a cold or infection.

I hope you feel better soon!!
