If you're getting another one, keep a pen/paper/ tabler with you.
Write when you can, what relief, if any, that you get. I'm sure that you'd get some. you hafto give that up to them. It's how long it lasts.... And, be fair about that too. So, there you have it. Blocks do something, maybe not the "Magic Bullet", but they do work. So, be fair and write up what they do for you!! Pete ASB |

Does the dr suggesting the block again know that information about your reaction to last time?
Or do they know what caused the reaction and are going to use something different this time? I don't know if they can use different medications/ingredients or not.

Really, You've got to be telling your Doctor this! It's nice that you tell us too, but, we can't help, directly. You MUST tell your doctor, what is printed above! Pete ASB |

Do you have an option of seeing a different dr?
If the one you are seeing now is the same one that gave the first block, maybe another dr would be good to talk with??? the second opinion thing... and maybe some drs are better at giving blocks than others??

Blocks dont work for everyone. I had my first one just knowing it was going to take away my pain. I had so many side effects & absolutley zero pain relief. And my stupid doctor wanted to do another. I was so afraid of saying no I let him. It was worse the second time. The next time he wanted me to keep doing them week after week for at least 6 more weeks. I was traveling over 250 miles to be tortured by him. I finally said no. He found me a new doctor closer to home. One who didnt believe in blocks for someone who had been diagnosed or who had potentially had RSD as long as I had. He said it was too late. Why were they bothering? If you dont feel comfortable with the treatment or have had dangerous side effects I say dont do it. Its not worth it. I have a wonderful doctor now becuase I stood up for myself finally & said NO! Good luck to you. I hope your okay.
Hugs, Denny PS Also you deserve pain medication & hes sadistic if hes not giving it to you |
