Heart RSD Alert Bracelet, Anyone?

Hello All,

Recently, I purchased 5 RSD Awareness bracelets for me and my family to wear. The funds($10.00) go to RSD awareness. I purchased the bracelet for myself so that in case of an emergency, and I wasn't able to communicate, medical professionals would have a clue...RSD Awareness. I carry a list of medications, along with DianeA's wonderful contribution site concerning hospital protocol,(http://www.rsds.org/4/resources/pdf/...l_protocol.pdf), in my purse. My husband has a copy, also.

Do any of you wear a medical alert bracelet?

Dew!
More info needed for my brain challenged self. (and maybe more of us).
Where do we get these?
Can we have them in Gold?
With Diamonds?
Or Ruby/Saphirres?
(Oh, sorry, thinkin' I was still married).....
Hah!

Seriously,
It's a great idea. And, to carry a card that contains your prescriptions!
Imagine, going into the emergency room, unconscious, and you cannot tell them what medications you take daily?
What a nightmare! They'd be treating "symptoms" that are only "withdrawal" from our "normal" cocktail of meds!
This, is Important!

Thanks, Dew!

Carrie,
I know longer wear my wedding rings or other jewelry, due to the swelling. The silicone bracelet is stretchable, and I can't even feel it on my skin.

I have a laminated card the size of a business card. It has a logo on it of a person in a wheelchair, it's red and stands out so that they know they have to be careful and that I have a disabilty. The card mentions "CRPS", and has a list of my medication. I might have my dad make another one that additionally states: careful, "late diagnosis" - almost 3 years into CRPS.

Hello,

The bracelet is a good idea. I've seen the one you are talking about Dew. One of my doctors has encouraged me to get it. Of all the things I have accepted and learned to handle with RSD and my life. I feel like it's a lable I'm not ready to wear. I know it can make a differenc if I go to the hospital for an emergency.
I keep a card of my meds. I also keep track via my computer the meds I have tried and the dosage and why I no longer take them. That way should I have to see a new doctor I can have that info. as well. I also keep a record of the doctors I have seen for my RSD.
Like all of you the list is long the good thing is I haven't had to add anyone in over 3 years.
Take care,
Sherrie

I understand,Sherrie. I am not pushing anyone to wear an RSD bracelet, I just wear one, and was curious if others on NT(RSD/CRPS) wore one, too.

I am not affiliated with the site that I posted, other than that I purchased the bracelets from the site . You are loved..and wearing a bracelet, or not...will change that fact
Dew.
