Default Grading RSD - need a little help

I had an IME recently and the doctor referenced a 1 to 5 grading scale for RSD.

Has anyone ever heard of this or had experience with it? I can't find a reference on it anywhere!

I've heard of stage 1, stage 2, up to stage 4 but not 5.

I have never heard of a 1 to 5 grading scale. Maybe it's something this doctor uses.

Considering it was an IME then it sounds like a wc scale of some sort or the doc's own personal scale. It wouldn't have anything to do with rsd, just how wc wanted him to refer to it. It could possibly be related to on a scale of 1-5 how disabled you are from rsd.

I was a wc case myself and know they have their own things.

Hugs,

Karen

Hi Dubious,
Sorry I can't help. The only pain scale I've heard of is from the RSDSA organization. They talk about the McGill Pain Scale. I think they use it from 1-10. The RSDSA organization said this year there will be 50,000 more people diagnosed with RSD. 50K a year is a large amount. I pray and hope we get recognized as we should and people begin to at least recognize it to be a increasingly serious disorder
Please take care, loretta

sometimes docs use a 1 to 5 scale for rating reflexes and sensitivity on each limb. also when they have you go on your heels and then toes to check balance. there is a lot more they use the scale for but i cant remember right now.
